⚔ SPRING STORM SURVIVAL KIT ⚔

Ah yes… it’s that magical time of year again—
šŸŒ©ļø Thunder
šŸŒŖļø Wind
⚔ Power flickers just enough to give you trust issues

And suddenly you’re sprinting through the house like:
ā€œWHERE IS A FLASHLIGHT AND WHY DO WE OWN 47 DEAD BATTERIES?!ā€

Meanwhile…
The prepared ones are sitting there glowing like royalty with their Milwaukee setup like:
ā€œCouldn’t be me.ā€

Let’s be real—this isn’t just a ā€œnice to have.ā€
This is the difference between:
šŸ‘‰ Calm, collected, slightly smug
vs
šŸ‘‰ Digging through drawers in the dark, stubbing your toe, and questioning every life decision since 2007

Reality Check:
• If your flashlight doesn’t turn on immediately… it’s decorative
• If your batteries are dead… you’re just holding expensive paperweights
• If you ā€œthinkā€ you know where your stuff is… you don’t

What actually saves you when the lights go out:
āœ”ļø Bright lights that don’t suck
āœ”ļø Charged batteries (multiple… because life happens)
āœ”ļø Stuff all in one place so you’re not scavenging like a gremlin
āœ”ļø Backup power so your phone doesn’t die mid-weather radar panic

Because when that storm rolls in sideways at 9PM, nobody wants to be:
šŸ‘‰ Blowing dust out of an old flashlight
šŸ‘‰ Smacking it like that’s going to fix it
šŸ‘‰ Or yelling ā€œIT WORKED LAST TIMEā€

Do yourself a favor—
Take 10 minutes, check your gear, charge your batteries, and build your own little ā€œI’m not panicking tonightā€ kit.

Be the person who’s ready.
Not the one fighting demons in the dark.

šŸŒ©ļø Storm season doesn’t care if you’re prepared… but your future self sure will.

Montana has been busy in February… 2,632 inspections kind of busy šŸ‘€

And if you look at that heat map…
They’ve been covering some SERIOUS ground across the state.

Honestly? This is a good thing.

A lot of what DOT is catching are the fly-by-night, out-of-state outfits rolling through with issues that shouldn’t be on the road in the first place. That’s the stuff that puts everyone at risk.

But here’s the real talk moment…
If our local trucks and operations are dialed in, it makes it a whole lot easier for enforcement to focus on the real problem players instead of getting tied up on things that are fixable.

Top violations are the usual suspects:
• Inspections not documented
• Log issues
• Equipment problems that should’ve been caught

Nothing shocking… and all preventable.

Let’s keep our local crews looking sharp, running safe, and buttoned up so DOT can spend their time where it actually matters.

šŸ“ž If you want help tightening things up before you end up on this list, give me a call.

In honor of today, here are some totally real updates coming to Safety & DOT in 2026:
āœ”ļø Pre-trip inspections are now optional… as long as you feel like the truck is doing okay.
āœ”ļø DOT officers will now accept ā€œI checked it yesterdayā€ as a valid inspection record.
āœ”ļø Load securement can be replaced with ā€œthat ain’t goin’ anywhere strap tugā€ confidence.
āœ”ļø Oil leaks are no longer defects… they’re just ā€œactive lubrication systems.ā€
āœ”ļø If the check engine light turns off on its own, it legally never existed.

Stay safe out there and keep the shiny side up. šŸ‘Š

🌾 Happy Montana Agriculture Day 🌾

To the farmers, ranchers, and ag families out there…
thank you.

Thank you for the early mornings, the late nights, and the days that don’t go as planned.
Thank you for feeding our communities, fueling our economy, and keeping a way of life alive that most people will never fully understand.

Ag isn’t just a job… it’s grit, it’s resilience, and it’s showing up no matter what the weather, markets, or equipment decide to throw at you that day.

From the fields to the feedlots, from the trucks to the bins—what you do matters more than you probably hear.

We see you. We appreciate you. And we’re damn grateful for you.

Stay safe out there and keep doing what you do best 🌾🚜

šŸš› DOT Day in Watford is officially underway! šŸš›

Bright and early at the City of Watford City Public Works Building and ready to soak up all the good stuff from Watford City Police Department, McKenzie County Sheriff’s Office, and North Dakota Highway Patrol.

These events are such a powerful resource for our local trucking community. Real conversations. Real scenarios. Real answers straight from the folks who do inspections every day.

I’m especially looking forward to the little nuggets you only get when you’re in the room:
āœ” The ā€œthis is what we actually see out thereā€ stories
āœ” The clarification on gray areas
āœ” The practical tips that keep trucks rolling instead of parked roadside

And let’s be honest… sometimes you have questions you want answered but don’t necessarily want to raise your hand in front of a room full of officers.

That’s where I come in. šŸ˜‰

If you’ve got DOT questions you’d rather ask anonymously, give me a shout. I’ve got solid resources and I’m happy to be the go-between. My job is to help you stay compliant, confident, and out of trouble.

Watford, let’s have a good day and keep building a stronger, safer trucking community. šŸšššŸ’™

Apparently the internet decided we’re all doing caricatures now… so I joined the chaos.
Behind the cartoon version of me is the real work I love doing: helping companies untangle safety, DOT, and compliance stuff without making it painful, awkward, or fear-based.
I don’t show up to write people up or play safety cop. I show up to help real humans doing real work understand the why, fix the gaps, and keep people going home at the end of the day.
If safety has ever felt overwhelming, confusing, or like ā€œone more thingā€ā€¦ that’s exactly why I do what I do.
And yes, sometimes we laugh while we’re doing it.

This year reminded me why I do this work.

It’s the honest conversations in the shop and the office.
The questions that start with ā€œCan I run this by you?ā€
The small fixes that prevent big problems later.
And the teams who care enough to keep improving, even when it’s hard or inconvenient.

I don’t take any of that lightly.

As we head into 2026, I’m excited to keep building practical systems, cutting through the noise, and helping organizations make safety and compliance something that actually supports their operations instead of slowing them down.

Onward into the new year.

My Rural Roadside Lifesaver šŸš—šŸ› ļø

Say hello to my new Tire Packout Kit — a complete Milwaukee setup that lets me change or patch a tire anywhere.
Rural roads don’t always come with cell service or tow trucks… so I brought my own backup.
Under $800 and already worth every penny.

Happy Thanksgiving from NPCC! šŸ¦ƒšŸ‚
I hope today brings you good food, good company, and good memories.

I’m grateful for every client, every conversation, every early-morning training, and every crew out there putting in the work to keep their people safe. You all make this wild little consulting adventure worth it.

Wishing you a cozy day, a full plate, and a moment to breathe before winter decides to test everyone’s grit again.

Stay warm, stay safe, and enjoy the holiday!
