Sit-rep update from the field:

After checking in at Vortex headquarters up in Barneveld Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago, we've got their new red dot optics in hand and ready for serious evaluation.

Over the next few weeks, we're going to push this gear hard to see how it performs under real-world conditions.

Depending on how these evaluations shake out, we might start dropping product reviews on a much more regular cadence.

Sound off in the comments—what’s your experience running Vortex optics out on the range or in the field.

🇺🇸 Happy Independence Day from Elite Tactical! 🇺🇸

We are preparing to celebrate the birth of a nation founded on freedom, courage, and the unwavering spirit of those willing to stand in its defense.

At Elite Tactical, we’re grateful for the men and women who have served, those who continue to serve, and the first responders who answer the call every day to keep our communities safe.

As you celebrate with family and friends, take a moment to remember that freedom isn’t free. It has always been earned through sacrifice, dedication, and an enduring commitment to the ideals that make America exceptional.

We wish everyone a safe and memorable Fourth of July. Enjoy the cookouts, the fireworks, and the time with those who matter most—but celebrate responsibly and look out for one another.

God Bless America, and Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸🎆

**Headline: Thinking about reaching out to 1,000+ yards? Let’s talk about the Coriolis Effect.** 🎯
We’ve had several questions lately here at **Elite Tactical** about long-range precision and the physics behind those extreme-distance shots.

One topic that keeps coming up is the **Coriolis Effect**.
If you’re new to the long-range game, you might have heard this term thrown around in movies or by gear-heads at the range. Simply put, it is the deflection of a bullet caused by the rotation of the Earth while the projectile is in flight.

**Does it affect your standard .308 setup at 200, 500, or even 800 yards?**
The short answer is: **No.**
For most shooting applications, the Coriolis Effect is so subtle that it’s completely overshadowed by variables like wind, ammo consistency, and shooter technique. It generally only becomes a factor for precision shooters pushing targets well beyond the **1,000-yard mark**.
When you get to those extreme ranges, the Earth's rotation matters:
* In the Northern Hemisphere, the rotation of the Earth causes a bullet to be slightly deflected to the right.
* In the Southern Hemisphere, that same effect causes a deflection to the left.
* The direction you are firing—North, South, East, or West—also dictates whether your point of impact shifts higher or lower due to the interaction between your velocity and the Earth's rotation.

**The Bottom Line:**
While it’s a fascinating piece of ballistics science, don't let the "Coriolis" talk distract you from mastering the fundamentals. Focus on your trigger control, your dope, and reading the wind—that’s what will keep you in the center of the target.
