For everyone out there who has felt like they didn't fit in because they weren't enough or because they were too much, I invite you to discover the world of Dolly Parton.

My love of Dolly began years ago when I discovered she was more than just a fabulous singer. I have listened to her songs, watched her movies and read her books. I even have a painting of her and won a Dolly costume contest at Lone Wolf Lounge.

The thing I love about Dolly is that she was truly herself and let no man or woman shame her out of it. As a woman, a business owner and a recovering people pleaser, it can be hard to stay true to myself. But Dolly always reminds me that it's possible to be kind and successful, glamorous and giving, warm but not a pushover.

Thank you, Dolly. You were more than we deserved, and I'll never forget it. Here's to all the butterflies you helped grow! 🦋

Hi! I’m Nadia, and this is my official application to be your marketing guide. 👋🏼

On the business side: 15+ years in the industry, 300+ businesses helped and $6 billion worth of programs marketed. All of which taught me: most businesses don’t need more marketing. They need direction.

On the personal side: diagnosed with ADHD in my 30s (which explained a lot), always three books deep and not afraid of a little woo-woo.

Here’s the part that matters though: I don’t want to be the one running your marketing. I want to be the one helping you decide what it should be and making sure it gets done the right way. Sometimes that looks like a marketing review. Sometimes a full strategy. Sometimes I stay on as your fractional chief marketing officer to oversee the plan and everything that comes after.

The truth? I'm not on this beach. I'm at my desk, where I've been most of the day, like a lot of you reading this.

Here's what I'm holding onto though. The whole reason I'm putting in the work now is to build something so strong that I can spend a random day at a beach club without worrying about the work piling up back home.

One of my favorite parts of this job is where it takes me.

Last week I headed to Startup Savannah's SPARK fall cohort kickoff at Common Restaurant. The program helps 15 founders accelerate their businesses and make an impact on our community.

I was reminded of all the years I've spent working with startups. There is something very special (and a little scary) about the beginning stages of a business.
