I am sharing this because this evening, we were having dinner with my cousin and his wife. We started talking about voting and checking voter registration status. My cousin's wife decided to check her registration, and 'low and behold', she was inactive. Family & friends, PLEASE check your registration status. My cousin's wife was able to update her status online. However, she has to print it out and mail it or take it to the elections office by November 5th.

Hurricane Helene Restoration Update
We’re committed to delivering reliable service

When the power goes out, it is our goal to safely restore it as quickly as possible.

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, we are working tirelessly to evaluate damage that occurred across the state due to high winds, heavy rain, and flash flooding. We know that outages are inconvenient and that the interruptions negatively impact you, your family, and your business.

Since the beginning of the storm, we have deployed over 14,000 personnel to begin full-scale damage assessment and restoration with power being restored to more than 250,000 customers by crews with the aid of our smart grid technology which helps enable remote restoration. As debris and downed trees are cleared, we will be able to accelerate our restoration efforts with more assistance arriving throughout the weekend, but extended outages are possible due to the severity of the damage.

The hardest hit areas included Augusta, Macon, Valdosta, and Savannah due to heavy rains and winds that reached up to 100 mph, resulting in 730,000 customer outages. Although, you may not see crews in your immediate area, please know they are working to safely restore your power as soon as possible.
