Juneteenth is the sound of chains falling and dreams refusing to die. It's the memory of footsteps that kept walking when the road was broken, voices that kept singing when silence was demanded, and hands that kept building a future they could not yet see.

We honor those who carried freedom in their hearts long before it reached the law. We celebrate the visionaries, workers, entrepreneurs, artists, teachers, and leaders who transformed struggle into strength and hope into progress.

As we reflect today, may we remember justice isn't a destination. It's a current that moves when ordinary people choose courage over comfort and action over apathy.

Happy Juneteenth from the Greater Savannah Black Chamber of Commerce. May we continue the work of building opportunity, preserving legacy, and creating a future worthy of those who came before us.

Yesterday's Black Business Flood at Diaspora Marketplace was a great reminder of what happens when our community shows up with intention.

From unique home décor and handcrafted goods to cultural treasures from West Africa, the Caribbean, and Burkina Faso, attendees had the opportunity to experience a business that's bringing something truly special to Savannah.

If you missed the Flood, don't worry. The whole point is to support our local businesses, and you don't have to wait for an organized event to do that. You can create your own Black Business Flood any day of the week.

Stop by Diaspora Marketplace when you get the chance, make a purchase, tell a friend, and continue investing in the businesses that help our community thrive.

Thank you to everyone who came out and made yesterday a success.

Runoff elections often see some of the lowest voter turnout of any election cycle, but the importance of the election itself hasn't changed.

In Georgia, a runoff happens when no candidate receives more than 50% of the vote, sending the top two candidates back to the ballot for a final decision.

If you're eligible to vote in the runoff, make sure you know the date, understand the rules, and bring a valid photo ID if you're voting in person.

We encourage our community to stay informed and engaged in the civic process. Check out the graphic for key dates and information about Georgia's 2026 runoff election.
