I know Facebook has been under fire recently for not protecting users' privacy, but sometimes it does wonderful things, too. I received a private message, but it wasn't from a name I recognized. Nevertheless, I opened it and read it and found a message that just made my day. There was a copy of a newspaper clipping from 1991 that displayed one of the hundreds & hundreds of photos I took on the streets of Jersey City over the years. So often we go along in life, not knowing whether what we do really matters to anyone. And then someone takes the time to send a message like this. Thank you, Angel Machado, for reminding me that often it's the littlest things we do that mean the most. Here is his note and the photo. "I know you did so much work but I just want to thank you for a small piece you did for me in the Jersey Journal back in 1991 when I graduated from kindergarten. You took a photo of me, my sister and a friend when we were standing in front of a grocery store on Palisade Ave in Jersey City. I still laugh about it to this day. It's just the little things people like you do that hold a life time of memories. Thanks again. Happy to see your hard work paid off."
