Progress happening at our Delaware Ave job in Bethlehem.

Progress is taking shape at Delaware Plaza in Delmar!

Last week we shared a look at where this project was starting. A week later, our HMA team is well into the reconstruction of the parking lot.

Drainage, catch basins, site excavation and new subbase are all part of the work happening before the new pavement goes down.

There’s still plenty of work ahead, and we’ll keep sharing the progress as this project comes together.

Sometimes experience just makes things look easy.

Jeff Otruba is a key member of the HMA Contracting team, and this is Jeff doing his magic.

His years of experience, knowledge of the construction industry, and ability to work through the details of a project bring tremendous value to HMA every day.

There’s no substitute for wisdom and experience—and we’re fortunate to have plenty of both in Jeff.

Thanks for everything you bring to the HMA team, Jeff! 👊

A before look at our newest project: Delaware Plaza in Delmar, NY.

The HMA team is getting started on a full parking lot reconstruction, including new drainage pipe, catch basins, control structures, curbing, subbase, and paving.

There’s a lot of work between this photo and the finished lot. We look forward to sharing the progress along the way!

There’s no better compliment than hearing this from a longtime customer.

We’re proud of the work our HMA team has completed at Union College over the years—and even more proud of the relationships built along the way.

Thank you for the kind words and continued trust!

Some things never go out of style.

In a business world filled with emails, texts, and instant communication, we still believe there’s something special about an old-fashioned, handwritten thank-you note.

Customers, employees, vendors, and business partners — relationships are a big part of what has allowed HMA to grow over the years.

Sometimes taking a few minutes to simply say thank you still means a lot.

A little old-fashioned? Maybe.

But we’re good with that.

Please join us in welcoming Michael Quinn to the HMA Contracting team!

Michael is joining HMA as an Estimator/Project Manager, bringing additional experience and strength to our project management and estimating team.

As HMA continues to grow, adding good people who share our commitment to professionalism, teamwork, and taking care of our clients is incredibly important.

We’re excited to have Michael on board and look forward to seeing the impact he’ll make with our team.

Welcome to HMA, Michael! 👏

A Proud Night for HMA Contracting!

Last night, HMA Contracting was honored to receive the Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce Van Rensselaer Small Business Award.

What made the night even better was having some of our HMA team there to celebrate with us.

This award may have HMA Contracting’s name on it, but it belongs to every person who has been part of our journey. For more than 32 years, our people have shown up, worked hard, taken care of our customers, and continued to raise the standard for what HMA stands for.

We’ve always said our goal is to be the most respected and professional excavation and paving company in the Capital District. Recognition like this tells us we’re heading in the right direction—but there is still plenty of road ahead.

Thank you to our entire HMA team, our customers, our partners, and everyone who has supported us along the way. We are incredibly proud of what we’ve built together.

And congratulations to all of the other honorees who made last night such a special celebration.

Building With Integrity.

It’s printed on the back of the vest, but it means a whole lot more than that.

Early mornings. Hot asphalt. Long days. And a crew that takes pride in doing the job right.

This is what construction season looks like at HMA. 👊

Proud of our team and the work they continue to put down across the Capital District.

It was so great getting together with all of the other Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce VRA honorees. Impactful discussion. We will see everyone next Thursday.

As the Van Rensselaer Awards Dinner is around the corner, we had the opportunity to host a wonderful breakfast to allow the award winners and award presenters to connect with one another.

If you haven’t signed up for Van Rensselaer yet, this is your last chance to register and support these business leaders. 🚨
