d in servicing and maintaining industrial electrostatic air cleaners since Bee Clean Specialties started. Electrostatic air cleaners, also known as, electronic air cleaners (EAC), are a green way of cleaning the air. EACs use less energy than media air cleaners because they use electrostatic forces to pull the smoke or oil mist sideways out of the air stream, instead of trapping it in the air stream. Because they pull the smoke or oil mist out of the air stream, their motors use less horsepower for the same cubic feet per minute(cfm) of air filtered. Also, there are no old, dirty, oily, filters going to the landfill because electrostatic filters are washable and reusable. Electrostatic air cleaners work best in oil mist and smoke applications. We have an exchange program for most industrial electrostatic air cleaner brands where we swap out dirty for clean collection filters. With this program, there is very little downtime while servicing the air cleaner. While we swap out the filters we are also checking the high voltage system, motor, blower and drains are functioning correctly. There are some applications, like dust and water-soluble coolant, where a media style air cleaners can work better. So, in the last few years, we have expanded into servicing media (disposable filters) air cleaners. We have sources for most cartridge, bag, pleated, and HEPA style filters which allows us to service these air cleaners, and provide filters to those that want to service the air cleaners in-house.
