Homework from Tuesday's Coaching Minute:

Final challenge of the series: make one double opt-in referral in the next two weeks.

Ask the receiver if they're open to it. Give the person you're referring a heads-up on who's reaching out and why. Be specific. Then follow up and see how it went.

That's the difference between a referral that builds trust and one that spends it.

Report back Tuesday.

This week's Coaching Minute from Garth Zindel of Foundations First Texas, week 5 of The First Hello.

Week 5: Pass It Forward.

A referral is your reputation, on loan. Lend it like you want it back.

Permission from both sides first. Be specific about why it's a match. Give them a clear next step. Only refer people you'd stake your name on. Then close the loop and check whether it landed.

That last step is what turns you into someone people trust with referrals again.

Homework from Tuesday's Coaching Minute:

Remember your own first time walking into a room like ours, not sure where to stand, hoping someone would wave you over?

This week, be the person who waves. Spot one newcomer at Tuesday's meeting and walk them through it: greet first, introduce them to two or three people with real context, give them a place to land.

No newcomer? Connect two members who don't know each other well yet.

Report back Tuesday.

This week's Coaching Minute from Garth Zindel of Foundations First Texas, week 4 of The First Hello.

Week 4: Welcome Them In.

People remember how a room made them feel long before they remember what anyone in it said.

Host mindset: treat every new face as if you personally invited them. Spot them. Greet first. Walk them over to two or three people. Give them a seat or a name tag so they're not standing alone again in five minutes. Next time, use their name.

A group that's easy to walk into is a group people bring guests to. That's a bigger growth engine than any flyer.
