A few photos from.....more training with our friends at Nassau Fire Department last night at the county training tower. Did some ladder egress victim rescues as well as some emergency firefighter bail out scenarios. Thanks to all who attended and instructed!

As part of our required annual safety inspections our hoses and ladders require testing. Ladders for weight bearing and each hose for pressure testing. Some of our firefighters are helping out in completing this task today. Great job everyone!

Another training night Wednesday evening, this time with our friends at Rensselaer City Fire Department at South Schodack Fire Station. Our goal last night was learning about their Drone capabilities and search and rescue and Fire applications using drones. Awesome to see these capabilities and how these applications can be used on the fire ground.

They also showed us high angle rescue and confined space rescue equipment and techniques using tripods, belay's and other rope, extraction and safety equipment. We appreciate their spending time with us, letting us get some closer looks at this specialized equipment and discussing potential applications in our fire district. We were also joined by Nassau Fire Department members.

We plan on setting something up for future hands on use training. Thank you to the Rensselaer City Fire Department for your time and instruction. We ended the evening with some great sunset pictures and a great meal.

Have you ever wondered what it might look like inside a smoke filled building? Here is something close, although visibility is pretty good here vs. Some situations we get into with no visibility.
We did an Interior attack and search drill last night with Nassau Fire Department , East Greenbush fire Department, and Schodack Valley Fire Department working on our SCBA use and search tactics.
We also used East Greenbush Fire Department FAST Team for a couple simulations of a firefighter in trouble for quick extraction.
Great synergy, and practice honing everyone's skills and learning new skills. Thank you Nassau Fire Department for hosting!

We marched at the Castleton Memorial Day Parade today representing our fire company and remembering our fallen heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country. Thank you for your sacrifice ladies and gentlemen, we could not have a day like today without your services and sacrifice...we won't forget....God Bless America.
