Some of our newer members were fortunate earlier this week to have a little bit of a local history lesson. While responding to an alarm activation at the Old Stone Fort Museum & Schoharie County Historical Society, which is just up the road from our fire station, our members were able to see one of the oldest fire engines in the United States… And it’s on exhibit at the museum! Not by coincidence, this pumper has been on our fire department letterhead for decades.
So, if you were following our page and are looking for some history, we definitely encourage you to check out the museum. At the same time, if you are looking to make history, consider joining our fire department. We’ve been protecting our community since 1832… and would love to add you to our member roster.
