Attached is a Job Posting for a Full-Time Forester.

I am really looking for candidates who want to do Hardwood Forest Management. I am looking to hire 1 full time person, and possibly 2. I am a consulting forester, and I do active forest management. I graduated in 1997 from Purdue University and started my own business in January of 2000. I now have 200 clients, that range from big clients to small clients. I am receiving about 2-4 calls a week for work to do. Gregg Forest Services works year round.

Please email [email protected] or text 812-987-4060 with any questions. Applications due August 22nd.

26” cherry 🍒 with 3.5 logs marked in Washington County. The / is a deduction for windshake in the butt log. This tree was going to blow over sometime soon. Gregg Forest Services had a previous sale from this woodland in 2012. The kitchen cabinets in my house are made out of cherry.

A few benefits of good forest management after a timber harvest. Blackberries, pollinators, an abundance of wildlife, and new healthy tree growth.

Blackberries fill openings the first few years as the new tree seedlings get a start. This provides an abundance of flowers for pollinators! The dense new growth also is home to thousands of insects, making great feeding grounds for migratory birds and breeding birds and their young!

By removing the invasive species, you free up space and nutrients for all the natives and create a healthier forest. By completing timber stand improvement, you remove the undesirable trees to produce healthier, faster growth of the desired species. (In the last 2 photos, we killed the midstory beech tree that was on the edge of an opening and under the crown of a white oak. Now, new oak seedlings have sprouted and will begin to compete with each other)
