Stepping into dementia caregiving often means entering unfamiliar territory like new routines, new responsibilities, and new emotions. Without guidance, it can feel like you’re figuring it all out alone.

That’s exactly how our founder, Dr. Lo**ta Tramel, felt when she became the primary caregiver for her mother.

Out of that experience, she created a new educational course designed to equip caregivers with essential knowledge about dementia 🧠, provide strategies to navigate daily challenges ⚡, and offer practical tools to care for yourself while caring for your loved one 💜.

Your guide to a more confident caregiving journey is here: https://education-academy.heartsfordementia.com/

Traveling with a loved one with dementia this Thanksgiving requires planning and care. 🦃

A calm, well-prepared approach can make the journey smoother for everyone.

💡 Plan ahead: Recognize signs of anxiety or agitation and discuss travel plans in advance.
💡 Stick with the familiar: Travel to known destinations and keep routines consistent.
💡 Prepare essentials: Bring medications, IDs, documents, snacks, and a backup plan.
💡 Air travel tips: Notify the airline of special needs, request assistance if needed, and stay with your travel companion.
💡 Visits to family: Prepare hosts, allow extra time, and maintain familiar routines to reduce stress.

Technology meets compassion in care 💙

Dr. Lo**ta Tramel recently shared some Alzheimer-friendly gadgets that are changing the game for families and caregivers. Whether its smart reminders, safety sensors, or fidget toys, these tools are helping people live more independently.

Thank you Your Life Arizona for the opportunity to spread awareness and support families on this journey.

We deeply admire the love, strength, and resilience shown by caregivers like Jay Leno. Caring for a loved one with dementia is a journey that requires patience, understanding, and a community of support. No one should navigate it alone. 💙

To all caregivers: your compassion doesn’t go unnoticed. You are seen, valued, and appreciated. And for those walking this path now, we’re here to help support your family with dignity and care.

Jay Leno is opening up about his role as caregiver following his wife Mavis’s ongoing dementia diagnosis.

"It's OK. It's not terrible. I'm not a woe-is-me person. I'm just lucky that I am able to take care of her," Leno told People at the 34th Annual Love Ride event in California.

Leno met his wife in the '70s at a comedy club in Los Angeles, and they married in 1980. In April 2024, he was granted conservatorship over her estate following her diagnosis.
