GAAT and NEMTA Partner to Enhance Healthcare Accessibility in Africa

The Global Alliance for Assisted Transportation (GAAT) and the Network for Medical Transportation Agencies (NEMTA) are pleased to announce a new collaboration to enhance healthcare accessibility in Africa. The partnership will bring together GAAT’s institutional capabilities, advanced technological solutions, commercial expertise, and industry resources with NEMTA’s invaluable local knowledge and experience.

“This agreement marks a significant leap forward in uplifting assisted medical transportation throughout the continent, making it more accessible and affordable to those who need it most,” said Jude Tadeo Musoke, NEMTA Founder. “We are excited to partner with GAAT to bring our shared vision to life.”

“Our collaboration is a testament to NEMTA and GAAT’s steadfast belief that all individuals have access to quality medical care, irrespective of their financial means or geographical location,” said Michael Shabkie, Founder GAAT and Non Emergency Medical Transportation Accreditation Commission (NEMTAC). . “We warmly invite potential partners and stakeholders to join us in our mission to revolutionize healthcare equity and access through innovative transportation solutions.”

The Caregiving, Rescuing Robot.

To respond to the rising demand for medical services amid labour shortages and the ageing population, a Shanghai-based firm, Fourier Intelligence, is developing a humanoid robot that can be deployed in healthcare facilities.

The GR-1 humanoid will be able to carry patients from the bed to wheelchairs and help pick up objects.

Xiaoyu added that the company is planning to develop X20 to be used for emergency rescue and fire detection in future, something “technically very challenging” according to him.
