Wilkins Wildlife & Pest Solutions Inc.

Wilkins Wildlife & Pest Solutions Inc. Wilkins Wildlife & Pest Solutions Inc. is a professional wildlife control and pest management company serving Delaware and Maryland’s Eastern Shore.

We are a full-service wildlife removal, exclusion and pest control specialist company that specialize in Bats, Birds & Wood Destroying Insects
Delaware WCO Permit: NWCO 098
Delaware Dept of Ag #2176
Maryland WCO Permit: 59152
Maryland Dept of Ag #34478 Our mission is simple but uncompromising: to protect people, property, and public health without unnecessary harm to wildlife, while applying scie

nce-based methods that actually solve problems at their source. Wildlife and pest issues are not random events. They are predictable outcomes of habitat overlap, seasonal biology, building construction, and human behavior mixed with habitat modification. Our role is not merely to “remove animals,” but to interpret what the environment is telling us, correct structural vulnerabilities, and guide both wildlife and homeowners toward long-term coexistence. This philosophy defines how Wilkins Wildlife & Pest Solutions operates, how we train our technicians, and how we interact with the public. What we do is strictly comprehensive wildlife and pest solutions period! not the latest crawlspace fad or borate infused insulation that sells some 5-figure job that has minimal effect on your structure. We provide a full spectrum of services designed to address both immediate concerns and long-term prevention. These services are delivered with transparency, professionalism, and strict adherence to state and federal regulations. Wildlife Control and Exclusion-
We specialize in the humane resolution of conflicts involving:
Raccoons
Squirrels (gray and flying squirrels)
Bats
Birds (including vent and structure nesting species)
Skunks
Groundhogs
Foxes and other small mammals

Our approach prioritizes exclusion over elimination whenever possible. That means identifying how animals access a structure, removing them using appropriate, humane methods, and then physically preventing re-entry through durable repairs that last for years to come because your family's safety matters and is priority one to us and that is precisely our reputation. Unlike companies that rely solely on trapping, Wilkins Wildlife emphasizes structural wildlife management. Trapping without exclusion often leads to repeat infestations, unnecessary animal mortality, and frustrated homeowners. We refuse to operate that way. Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
For insects and rodents, Wilkins Wildlife employs Integrated Pest Management, a strategy that combines inspection, identification, environmental modification, and targeted control. IPM avoids blanket chemical applications and instead asks:
Why is this pest present? What conditions are sustaining it? How can we correct the environment to prevent recurrence? This approach is safer for families, pets, pollinators, and the surrounding ecosystem — and it produces better long-term results. A Humane Philosophy Rooted in Biology
One of the most misunderstood aspects of wildlife control is what “humane” actually means. At Wilkins Wildlife & Pest Solutions, humane practices are not marketing language — they are operational standards guided by wildlife biology, animal welfare science, and professional ethics. Humane Does Not Mean Passive
Humane wildlife control does not mean allowing animals to damage structures, spread disease, or threaten safety. It means using methods that:
Minimize stress and suffering
Respect breeding and maternity seasons
Avoid unnecessary lethal outcomes
Solve the problem permanently
For example, during bat maternity season, exclusions are carefully timed to avoid trapping flightless pups inside structures. With other animals, young are removed by hand and reunited or relocated appropriately when legal and biologically sound. If orphaned due to disease or vehicle collision young are delivered to a state licensed rehabilitator for increased chances of survival. These decisions require training, patience, and expertise — not shortcuts. Why Biology Matters
Animals behave predictably based on:
Season
Weather
Food availability
Reproductive cycles
Learned behaviors
Understanding these patterns allows Wilkins Wildlife technicians to anticipate behavior instead of reacting to it. This reduces risk, improves outcomes, and prevents repeat conflicts. Education as a Core Service:
We believe an informed homeowner is a protected homeowner. A major part of our work involves educating the public on:
Why wildlife enters structures
What signs indicate an active issue versus a transient one
When intervention is truly necessary
How simple maintenance can prevent costly problems
And how our remote monitoring program further initiates a higher level of trust

Fear-based messaging creates confusion and bad decisions. Wilkins Wildlife does the opposite — we explain clearly, honestly, and calmly. This is especially important on the Eastern Shore, where wildlife activity is closely tied to seasonal coastal and agricultural ecosystems. What looks alarming to one homeowner may be completely normal behavior to a trained professional. Structural Solutions, Not Temporary Fixes
One of the biggest failures in the wildlife control industry is treating symptoms instead of causes. Wilkins Wildlife & Pest Solutions focuses on:
Entry-point identification
Elite Construction-grade exclusion materials
Code-compliant repairs
Long-term durability - (most items are limited-lifetime warranty)

We do not rely on foam, screen scraps, or cosmetic patches. Our exclusions are designed to withstand weather, animal pressure, and time, lots of time. This philosophy protects both the homeowner’s investment and the animals themselves by preventing repeated displacement or lethal control cycles. Public Health and Safety
Wildlife and pests are not just nuisance issues — they can pose legitimate health risks when unmanaged. Wilkins Wildlife addresses concerns such as:
Zoonotic diseases
Parasites and ectoparasites
Contamination from droppings and nesting material
Structural damage that creates secondary pest entry
When sanitization or remediation is required, it is handled with proper protective equipment, containment procedures, and disposal protocols. We do not exaggerate risks — but we do not minimize them either. Public safety is treated seriously and responsibly. Ethical Standards and Regulatory Compliance
Wilkins Wildlife & Pest Solutions operates in strict compliance with:
State wildlife regulations
Federal protections (including bat and migratory bird laws)
Local building and safety codes
Our technicians are trained to understand what is legal, what is ethical, and what is effective — and to explain those distinctions clearly to customers. If a requested action is illegal, unsafe, or biologically inappropriate, we will not perform it. Professional integrity matters more than a single job. Local Expertise Matters
Wilkins Wildlife is deeply familiar with local dynamics. That knowledge allows us to tailor solutions that make sense here, not generic approaches borrowed from other regions. This local expertise is one of the reasons our work emphasizes prevention, timing, and long-term planning. Transparency, Not Sales Pressure
From inspection through resolution, Wilkins Wildlife prioritizes transparency:
Clear explanations
Honest assessments
Documented findings
Straightforward recommendations

We do not upsell unnecessary services or inflate urgency. If an issue can be monitored safely, we say so. If immediate action is required, we explain why. Trust is built by telling the truth — even when it means less work in the short term. Why Humane Wildlife Control Is Better for Everyone
Humane, science-based wildlife management benefits:
Homeowners, by protecting property and health
Communities, by reducing conflict and misinformation
Wildlife, by preventing unnecessary death and displacement
The environment, by limiting chemical and lethal overuse

Wilkins Wildlife & Pest Solutions exists to bring professionalism and balance to an industry that too often relies on fear or shortcuts. Wilkins Wildlife & Pest Solutions is not just a wildlife removal company. We are problem solvers, educators, and stewards of both built environments and natural systems. By combining:
Biological expertise
Humane standards
Structural solutions
Public education
Local knowledge

Pest Control Customer Service Representative / Dispatcher

Wilkins Wildlife & Pest Solutions Inc.
29550 Matthews Drive
Seaford, DE 19973

Position: Full-Time, On-Site
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Starting Pay: $46,590 per year
Reports To: Owner and Office Manager

Position Overview

Wilkins Wildlife & Pest Solutions is hiring an experienced Customer Service Representative to support our clients and field-service team.

This position is responsible for answering client calls, helping calm and de-escalate concerned clients, documenting the information they provide, scheduling consultations, and assisting with the daily dispatching of technicians.

The Customer Service Representative does not identify wildlife or pest species, diagnose problems, recommend treatments, or make technical determinations. Identification and diagnosis are the responsibility of the technician performing the consultation.

This is an on-site position—not a remote position. Previous pest-control industry experience and experience using PestPac or comparable service-management software are required.

Primary Responsibilities
Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally
Listen carefully to client concerns and help de-escalate stressful situations
Allow clients to describe what they have seen, heard, smelled, or experienced without attempting to diagnose the cause
Document client observations accurately without adding assumptions
Follow company intake procedures and approved telephone scripts
Schedule the appropriate professional consultation
Schedule, reschedule, and confirm client appointments
Assist with dispatching technicians based on location, urgency, existing appointments, and technician availability
Communicate schedule changes and appointment information to technicians
Maintain accurate client records, appointment details, service notes, and account information
Use PestPac or equivalent software to manage clients, appointments, work orders, and technician schedules
Explain company consultation fees, scheduling procedures, and service expectations
Escalate technical questions or uncertain situations to the owner, office manager, or qualified technician
Coordinate daily with the owner, office manager, and field-service team
Position Boundaries

The Customer Service Representative is not authorized to:

Identify a pest or wildlife species over the telephone
Diagnose the cause or extent of a client’s problem
Recommend treatment, trapping, exclusion, or remediation methods
Guarantee what a technician will find
Promise a specific outcome before an inspection
Provide technical advice outside approved company procedures

The CSR’s responsibility is to calm the client, document the reported observations, explain the consultation process, and schedule a qualified technician to evaluate the property.

Required Qualifications
Previous customer-service, scheduling, or dispatching experience within the pest-control industry
Experience using PestPac, Jobber or comparable field-service software
Strong telephone and written communication skills
Ability to remain calm and professional with concerned or frustrated clients
Ability to manage multiple telephone calls, schedules, and priorities
Strong attention to detail and accurate data-entry skills
Ability to document facts without making assumptions or offering a diagnosis
Dependable attendance and the ability to work the full Monday–Friday schedule
The Right Candidate

The right person understands that excellent customer service does not mean guessing what is causing a problem. It means listening, asking approved intake questions, calming the client, recording accurate information, and arranging for a qualified technician to perform the consultation.

We are looking for someone experienced, dependable, organized, confident on the telephone, and capable of becoming a reliable part of our daily operations.

How to Apply

Submit a current résumé describing your pest-control industry experience, customer-service or dispatching background, and the scheduling or service-management software you have used.

FIELD BREAKDOWN
YOU DON'T NEED A SWAMP TO GROW MOSQUITOES.

Mosquito habitat may be sitting five feet from your back door.

A bucket.

A clogged gutter.

A child's toy.

A flowerpot saucer.

A tarp.

A wheelbarrow.

A birdbath.

A piece of equipment holding rainwater.

Even small amounts of standing water can create mosquito breeding habitat.

And this is where mosquito management gets misunderstood.

People often think mosquito control means:

“Spray the yard.”

Treatment can absolutely be part of the program.

But if the property continues producing mosquitoes, we're ignoring part of the problem.

Good mosquito management involves looking for:

• Standing water
• Drainage problems
• Containers collecting rainfall
• Dense shaded vegetation
• Areas where adult mosquitoes rest
• Conditions allowing repeated reproduction

This is called source reduction.

You reduce the environments mosquitoes use to reproduce while treating appropriate resting areas and managing the adult population.

That's an entirely different approach than randomly spraying everything green.

Find the source.
Understand the biology.
Target the treatment.

FIELD MYTH
“I SAW A WILD ANIMAL. I NEED IT TRAPPED.”

Not necessarily.

One of the most important things in professional wildlife control is determining the difference between an animal that is:

Passing through

Feeding

Loafing

Seeking shelter

Denning

Nesting

or

Actually entering the structure

Those are not the same problem.

A raccoon walking across your backyard at 2:00 a.m. does not automatically mean you have a raccoon infestation.

A squirrel sitting on your roof doesn't automatically mean there's a squirrel in your attic.

A fox appearing on a camera doesn't automatically mean it has established a den.

The correct first question isn't always:

“How do we trap it?”

Sometimes the correct question is:

“What exactly is this animal doing here?”

That is why monitoring can be incredibly valuable.

Camera monitoring, tracks, droppings, structural evidence, entry-point inspection and behavioral patterns help us determine whether we're dealing with temporary activity or an established wildlife problem.

Professional wildlife management isn't about catching the first animal you see.

It's about correctly identifying the behavior before choosing the solution.

Observe first.
Diagnose second.
Manage correctly.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 29
FIELD ALERT
TICKS DON'T NEED YOUR PERMISSION TO ENTER THE PROPERTY.

Most people think about ticks after they walk through high grass or go hiking.

But your own yard can provide everything a tick needs.

Shade.

Leaf litter.

Wood lines.

Dense vegetation.

Rodents.

Deer.

Birds.

Other wildlife moving through the property.

Ticks aren't randomly scattered across every square foot of your lawn.

They tend to concentrate in specific environments where moisture, shade, vegetation and available hosts come together.

That is why professional tick management should involve more than simply walking around spraying the entire yard.

We need to understand:

Where are the ticks likely to be?

Where are animals traveling?

Where does maintained turf meet wooded or overgrown habitat?

Where are moisture and shade being retained?

And what can be changed about the property to reduce favorable tick habitat?

Chemical treatment can be an important tool.

But habitat management, host activity, treatment placement and timing matter too.

That is the bigger lesson:

Don't just treat the pest.
Understand the environment supporting the pest.

FIELD NOTES #001
THE EDUCATION IS CHANGING.

Education around here is changing, No more Radio, No More TV and No More trusting what we do in the hands of people WHO DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT WE DO!

No more random wildlife fact one day, pest-control fact the next, followed by another disconnected topic somewhere in between.

Welcome to:

WILKINS FIELD NOTES
Facts Over Folklore.

We're going to take what we see, study and work with every day in the field and break it down in a way that actually makes sense. Opinions and questions are always welcome. Misinformation and emotional responses are NOT!

We'll cover:

• Wildlife behavior and management
• Structural pest control
• Bird management
• Deer management
• Goose management
• Mosquitoes and ticks
• Zoonotic diseases
• Insect-transmitted diseases
• Exclusion and prevention
• Habitat and environmental conditions
• Animal and insect biology
• And what actually works when these problems reach your property

Some Field Notes will take 30 seconds to read.

Others are going to get technical.

Sometimes we'll show you exactly what we found on a property and explain why it happened.

And we're absolutely going to challenge some of the things people have been told about wildlife and pests for years.

Because knowing the name of an animal or insect isn't enough.

You need to understand:

Why is it there?

What is it doing?

What conditions are supporting it?

What risks come with it?

And most importantly:

What is the correct way to manage it?

That's the difference between reacting to a problem and understanding one!

So, Welcome to Wilkins Field Notes.

A day in the life of…

08/13/2026

Performed a Wildlife consultation on a structure that they thought were birds in the attic which they were correct. They are pigeons, but the reason the pigeons are even in there is because there was a previous access from a raccoon who broke through a gable vent. Probably either stayed winter months or could’ve been a female that had Young and moved on. The vent was not addressed so that allowed the pigeons to move in when the pigeons moved in. It was probably a pair they continue to grow from that pair into approximately 16 pigeons with a lot of droppings throughout the attic space. This is why it is imperative to pay attention to your structures when something looks different. There’s something going on.

Technique matters.

Bat removal during the wrong exclusion season — or with the wrong technique — is a guaranteed way to fail. This picture is a perfect example of that.

You cannot just cover an area up, guess, and hope for the best. If proper exclusion methods are not used, bats will find another way, get trapped in the wrong place, or the job will simply fail every time.

Bat work is not about doing something.
It is about doing the right thing, at the right time, with the right technique.

This is exactly why proper inspection, correct timing, and real exclusion knowledge matter.
