Saturday Morning Cartunes (SMC) was created in 2004 by DJs Integrity and How Hard. SMC was inspired by a "do it yourself", grassroots attitude carried forward from events and projects they worked on together under Hardmind, a collective created by How Hard and Mindgame. SMC started in a park on Long Island, expanded into venues throughout New York, and even made its way into New England. Most rece
ntly, Integrity teamed up with Big Ears, another Hardmind member, to take the series forward. Saturday Morning Cartunes strives to showcase the authentic and positive aspects of our culture to all, advance it forward, and inspire others to do the same. THE SATURDAY MORNING CARTUNES STORY:
Lets travel back in time for a moment. A time when you wanted to wake up early because the school week was over and Saturday morning was upon you. After catching up on the latest adventures of the Thundercats or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (or whatever cartoons were popular in your youth =P), you ran outside into your carefree world with your friends to live your own adventures and create your own memories. This time period in our lives shaped our vision for the series of parties we brought you and drives us in all SMC branded events. Make your Saturday morning full of carefree fun. Go on that adventure one more time and create new memories. Take a step back from your daily grind for an extended block of Saturday Morning Cartunes.
