We had a small fire take place under our fish house today. Luckily our guys were able to go under the fish house with our skiff and put out the fire with a couple of fire extinguishers and a garden hose. We're not sure how much damage it did or exactly how it happened. We are blessed that this happened in the daytime while we had employees here to spot it and act fast. A shout out and thank you to Capt. Charles, Gibby, Julio, and all of the York County Fire And Rescue responders that showed up to assist us today.

Just another heads up with what's happening on Back Creek this morning. It's just a drill.

Seaford Scallop Co., Inc. will be hosting a Hazmat Training Drill for Virginia Department of Emergency Management Thursday, October 12, 2023.

Training Drill Info:

VA Department of Emergency Management will also have Fire & Rescue from York County, City of Poquoson, and City of Newport News here.

They will be at our site half a day placing booms in the inlet to test booming strategy identified in their Area Contingency Plan.
