Last night was a great reminder of what strong communities are built on.

Had the honor of attending the East Alabama Chamber of Commerce Annual Dinner. The evening was filled with incredible people, leadership, and meaningful connections. Rooms like that don’t happen by accident, they’re built by individuals who choose to show up, support one another, and invest in something bigger than themselves.

Thank you to the Chamber for the work you do to make that happen.

If you are interested in being a background actor for the Breaking Joy film, I need your availability for May 4–8 (12-hour days, likely starting around 8–9 AM in the Columbus area).

This is a volunteer opportunity, but you will be fed, receive on-screen credit, and gain valuable on-set experience.

We are especially looking for Service Members, Veterans, and Dependents, as participation supports our DoW SkillBridge and Army CSP partnerships within the entertainment industry.

The internet is divided on this one. Some say it's dangerous someone so young is lifting this type of weight while others say it's inspiring. What do you think?

This is 9-year-old Lucy Milgrim. She has been powerlifting for one year. In that one year she has set three American records with USA Powerlifting including the deadlift, bench press and squat in her age and weight class.

The deadlift record is the one that broke the internet. 180 pounds. Three times her own body weight. A milestone that most serious adult powerlifters never reach in their entire careers.

Coaches and professional lifters who have been in the sport for decades said they had never seen anything like it. One USA Powerlifting official said a double bodyweight deadlift is considered a hallmark of a serious adult athlete. Lucy did three times her bodyweight. At nine. In her first year.

What makes it even crazier is that powerlifting is not even her main sport. Lucy is primarily a wrestler who trains four to five days a week with her dad and an Olympic bronze medalist coach. She picked up powerlifting on the side.

When asked what she loves about powerlifting she thought about it for a second.

"I get to wear makeup while I lift and have a pretty hairstyle," she said. "In wrestling I can only do battle braids or ponytails."

Great event at CVCC with the East Alabama Chamber of Commerce.

Had the chance to meet Congressman Shomari Figures and have some real conversations about what matters with workforce, families, and the future of our communities.

We didn’t agree on everything, but that’s not the point.

Respect, dialogue, and showing up is how real change happens.
Even better having my son Gabriel there with me, these are the moments that matter.

Had the opportunity to attend an East Alabama Chamber of Commerce event at Chattahoochee Valley Community College and spend some time speaking with Rep. Shomari Figures

What stood out most wasn’t just his policies, it was the willingness to engage, listen, and work toward solutions that put the community first.

I can't say we agree on everything, and that’s okay. Progress isn’t built on echo chambers. It’s built on conversations, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to making things better for the people we serve.

The discussions around workforce development, childcare access, infrastructure, and the overall business climate reinforced something I strongly believe:

- Strong communities require participation.

- Real change requires people willing to show up.

- Leadership requires collaboration—not division.

It was also meaningful to have my son Gabriel there with me. These are the moments where the next generation sees firsthand what it means to engage, listen, and be part of something bigger than yourself.

At AmeraVinci, we believe in being more than observers, we believe in being part of the solution. That means showing up, engaging with leaders, and helping shape the direction of our communities.
