I have read 51 books so far this year, 17 of which were editing projects, so I don't add them on Goodreads, and the rest have been leisurely reads. (Goodreads is off by three because I listened to the dramatized adaptation of the Empyrean series, which counts as two for each book.)

In my latest book review, I share my thoughts on Virginia Evans' "The Correspondent"—a deeply moving novel written entirely in letters and emails.

It centers on 73-year-old Sybil Van Antwerp, a retired lawyer whose daily routine revolves around her desk. Through her letters to family, strangers, and even famous authors, a portrait unfolds of a woman facing her past, navigating changing relationships, and learning to let go of long-held regrets.

One highlight for me was Sybil’s early letter to her friend Joan. It stands out for how succinctly it articulates the shifting seasons of our lives—proving that meaningful connection and personal growth aren't bound by age.
