I’ll admit, I’m a fan of saving money and a fan of DIY, but consider this a PSA – A selfie is not the way to go for a headshot. Are professional photos required to win the crown or land the dream job? Of course not!But they can be a useful tool to make a strong first impression. So if you’re thinking about investing in pro headshots, here are a few tips:

✨Don’t break the bank. As with all areas in your life, set a realistic budget and stick to it!
✨Look for a photographer who has experience in the style of photo you want (pageant, corporate headshot, branding/lifestyle, etc.)
✨Pro hair and makeup make a big difference so factor that into your time and budget
✨Plan your wardrobe, have multiple solid-color options, and iron your clothes
✨Practice your poses in front of a mirror, know your angles, and warm up your body before your photoshoot
✨To take the best photos, be authentic and have fun!

It’s time to set your intentions for 2022. Here are a few things to consider:
-First, take stock and reflect on what worked for you and what didn’t in 2021. What do you want more of/less of?
-Next, cast a vision, which should be your “why” or objective
-Now, set specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time bound goals that tie back to you vision
-Write down your goals and the steps and names of the people and resources you need to get there
-Finally, get to work! Take small, consistent actions to achieve your goals and bring your vision to life. ✨👑✨

Idhalia: Has her degree in Communications who works with first generation American and refugee women, and is an aspiring professional songwriter.


Megan: Is a postpartum and women’s health Registered Nurse and started her own initiative promoting spiritual, physical, and mental wellness.


Chrystal: Is a creative entrepreneur and coaches other young businesses owners as she finalizes her studies to become an elementary school teacher


Yazzie: Works in a top epidemiology lab as she completes her studies to become a microbiologist, and also raises awareness about people of all abilities surpassing expectations of society
