Q: Aren't you fostering SILOS?

A: Each module is operated like its own company, with its own budget authority, procurement, software development, mechanical engineering development, shipping and receiving, etc. This is to reduce waiting. has taught me that putting time into repetitious daily activities adds delight. My parts resist this, but the joy from an extra 8 minutes of breakfast prep, even if I eat it while working, results in something that really makes joy for me. I wonder if this helps any driven, focused people out there, who are making daily progress towards their goals, with joy and sustainability.

For anyone doing online work in : I recommend as your primary internet and your current internet provider as your backup. There is no usage fee for the amount of data, and it is extremely fast, so I recommend it.

Q: You highlighted that no estimates and no budgets (as central governance) are practices (or not required) in Tesla or SpaceX. What are in your opinion the impacts of previous on delivering in an Agile way?

A: A company cannot make a capital backed change faster than it can re-allocate capital. The speed of implementing a new learning, or Agility, is limited by the speed of the budgeting cycle. A one year budget company cannot out-learn and out-maneuver a company with 30 day budget cycles, or daily rebudgeting ( ) like Musk companies.

Q: Won't modularity pose major problems for version tracking and the reparability of models produced according to different versions of each module?

A: Google, Facebook, and LinkedIn track millions of users and what they have purchased, where they have lived, what devices they use now and what devices they used to use. A car only has around 10,000 parts and there are only about 5 million Tesla’s on the road as of now. Tracking one or even 10 different versions of a part each day is very simple for a modern tech company. For repairability, failed modules are replaced with the current version of that module, not the original version, and technicians are trained on swapping modules instead of the details inside each version.
