For patients awaiting a stem cell transplant, uncertainty can be one of the most challenging parts of what feels like a stormy journey.

Pathways may exist, but finding and accessing them can take time when time feels most precious. Behind every transplant journey are patients, families, healthcare teams, donor registries, cord blood banks, transplant centers, and many others working toward a common goal: helping patients find a path forward.

Today, on Apheresis Awareness Day, we recognize the patients, donors, nurses, physicians, collection specialists, transplant coordinators, and many other professionals whose expertise and dedication help make apheresis medicine possible.

Progress for patients depends on more than innovation alone. It depends on the healthcare professionals, donors, collection teams, transplant centers, and scientific leaders working every day to expand possibilities for patients and advance the field of cellular therapy and transplantation.

September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month

At Gamida Cell, blood cancer isn't simply a disease area we work in. It's the reason our employees come to work every day.

Behind every diagnosis is a person with goals, plans, relationships, and hopes for the future. During Blood Cancer Awareness Month, we will be sharing the story of Mendya Griffith, an acute myeloid leukemia survivor and patient advocate, who has chosen to share her experience in her own words.

We believe patient voices matter. They remind us why innovation matters, why advocacy matters, and why the work to improve treatment options and patient experiences is so important.

Throughout September, we will explore themes of diagnosis, hope, donor availability, survivorship, and advocacy through Mendya's experience. We hope to elevate the voices of people affected by blood cancer.
