🌊 From remote anchorages and breaching whales to 40-knot winds off Race Rocks... the adventure is far from over!

Gary, Dayna, and Mike's six-week circumnavigation of Vancouver Island aboard La Soirée, their Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 419, continues with another unforgettable chapter.

This leg of the journey takes them through the spectacular waters of Nootka and Clayoquot Sounds, where they discovered hidden anchorages, paddled to secluded waterfalls, explored historic Friendly Cove, and enjoyed some of the most breathtaking scenery on the British Columbia coast. Along the way they encountered humpback whales, sea otters, black bears, soaring bald eagles, and even found themselves racing a fleet of Seattle Yacht Club sailboats through Barkley Sound.

But the biggest test came near Race Rocks, where building winds topped 40 knots and a sudden broach put both crew and boat to the test. Thanks to preparation, teamwork, and the capable performance of their Jeanneau, they safely recovered and continued on to Victoria before completing another incredible milestone on their voyage.
