✨ Hey y’all— it’s been a minute! ✨
I’m so grateful to reintroduce myself to both my new and longtime followers here on my consulting page. So much has happened since my last post in 2024, and I want to bring you along for the journey. 💫

1️⃣ Necessary Interruptions turned 5! 🎂 What started as a spark of an idea has grown from just a consulting business into an intentional business that uplifts, champions and is loud about equity, accountability, and courageous and humane practices within orgs and leadership settings.

2️⃣ I became a Mommy of TWO as of last year! 🍼 becoming a mama again has been a whirlwind, and this chapter has stretched and blessed me in ways I never imagined. So thankful for my very hands on and supportive short King 👑 😝🥹 .

3️⃣ Postpartum healing ❤️‍🩹 led me to the pool. I picked up swimming, I’ve shed almost 70 lbs, and found new joy in my body and spirit. 🏊🏾‍♀️ and also the importance of gifting myself with wellness as an intentional daily practice.

4️⃣ What started as a hobby has now become a business. My husband and I co-founded ETU Swimwear — a bold, body-inclusive swimwear line. 🌊 We’d love for you to follow our journey as we build something joyful and community-centered.

5️⃣ Just wrapped a powerful keynote speech in Tacoma, WA with + FEN — necessary conversations about interrupting the spirit of scarcity and leaning into abundance and financial empowerment.

6️⃣ And… I launched a brand new website! 🚀 Still busy in equity + social justice work (strategic planning, board coaching, change management + more). If your org is ready to do transformative work, check out the Contact Us page and let’s connect!

💜 Thank you for being here. Thank you for following. This space is for reflection, growth, and interruption of oppressive practices that no longer serves us and our respective communities. Here’s to the next chapter — together.

👉🏾 Drop a ✨ in the comments if you’ve been rocking with me since day 1, or a 💡 if you’re new here and ready to join the journey!

Two weeks ago and joined forces again to facilitate a two part with New Beginnings] via zoom.

The first workshop by both and allowed participants to take a historical dive through pivotal contributions from folks who helped shape the course of the anti-violence movement long before it was even called that name.

The second workshop centered around harm repair and within the movement. Participants learnt about examining work place culture while white supremacist undertones while carving out room to operate through a trauma informed lens.

We want to thank New Beginnings] for supporting our shared work!!

Next month will be the virtual Keynote Speaker at the Indiana Coalition against Domestic Violence’s Annual Conference.

Her keynote speech is titled “Out of an Abundance of Convictions” where she will shed light on her journey of speaking out against anti-Blackness in the movement to end gender based violence, the white supremacist scrutiny that initially followed her, but also the many supporters from a variety of fields have actively rallied to support her work and the need to reimagine a world that centers a Black liberation based lens.

These experiences have opened up a door to a larger conversation and opportunity for to work audaciously through an Abolitionist framework that is beyond the walls of the movement to end violence.

This is not a conference you want to miss! Registration details are on the flyer, we hope to see you there!!

Excited to announce that Today at 11am-12:30pm EST Darin Dorsey] will be the closing plenary speakers at the National Sexual Assault Conference.

A session where they share within 40 mins an account of how movement organizations and funders eliminate Black leadership.

While it’s hard to summarize all that content in 40 mins, please plan to visit and register to attend a 2023 in-depth session facilitated by Darin Dorsey] and where they will be sharing their individual lived experiences of anti-Black erasure they navigated for speaking out about the anti-Blackness conditions that were subjected to and expected to work through.

While there were concerted efforts to silence them for speaking out in 2020 the work they have been invested in doing with organizations, businesses, communities and individuals to interrupt anti-Black erasure in the movement to end gender based violence continues to speak volumes.

Trust us when we say you don’t want to sleep or miss this upcoming session!
