Gun violence is a public health crisis — and its consequences don't end with a single incident.

Families grieve. Young people carry trauma. Neighborhoods absorb disruption that affects health, education, housing stability, and economic opportunity for years. For too many Black and Brown communities, these impacts are compounded by chronic underinvestment and gaps in prevention-centered support.

At FMS Global Strategies, we recognize that community safety requires more than response. It requires prevention, accountability, and policies informed by the people most directly impacted. Safer communities are built through sustained investment, community voice, and systems designed to protect people before crisis occurs.

On National Gun Violence Awareness Day, we honor those affected by violence and reaffirm our commitment to solutions rooted in dignity, equity, and community power.

Safety is equity. Prevention is power.

Pride Month is not just a celebration — it is a call to action.

We honor the joy, the resilience, and the unapologetic visibility of LGBTQ+ communities across Washington State and this nation. And we hold space for the truth that visibility alone is not enough. Too many LGBTQ+ individuals — especially those who are Black, Brown, low-income, or living at the intersection of multiple marginalized identities — still face real and measurable barriers in healthcare, housing, economic opportunity, and personal safety.

These are not abstract issues. They are policy failures. And policy failures have solutions.

At FMS Global Strategies and the WE Build Back Better Alliance, we have spent more than a decade fighting for the belief that equitable communities are built — deliberately, strategically, and with the people most impacted leading the way. That work does not pause in June, and it does not stop at one community. When we fight for systems that are fair, responsive, and accountable, we fight for everyone.

This Pride Month, we celebrate. We reflect. And we recommit.

To our LGBTQ+ partners, clients, and community members — we see you, we stand with you, and we will keep showing up in the rooms where decisions are made to ensure your voice is not just heard, but reflected.

National Foster Care Month reminds us that every child deserves safety, stability, and the opportunity to thrive.

For many children and youth, involvement with the foster care system reflects broader challenges that extend beyond a single circumstance. Housing instability, economic hardship, behavioral health needs, educational disruption, and family crises often intersect in ways that impact long-term outcomes for children and families.

At FMS Global Strategies, we recognize that improving outcomes for children requires more than intervention. It requires coordinated systems, equitable access to resources, trauma-informed support, and sustained investments that strengthen families and communities before and during times of crisis.

This month, we honor foster parents, kinship caregivers, child welfare professionals, educators, advocates, and community partners working every day to create safe, supportive environments where children can grow, heal, and succeed.

Strong communities are built when every child has access to opportunity, stability, and the support they need to reach their full potential. We remain committed to advancing policies, partnerships, and community-centered solutions that help create brighter futures for children and families across our communities.

What an incredible day! 🇺🇸✨ I had the honor of attending a private preview of the Obama Presidential Museum — and my heart is so full.
Having had the privilege of working with President Obama twice, being among the first to walk through this museum is something I will never forget. It’s still in its pre-opening stages, but the vision and legacy on display are already breathtaking.

So grateful to have shared this moment with some of my closest friends. History in the making! 🙌🏾
