Seattle FlagMakers

Seattle FlagMakers Makers of quality, hand sewn flags, pennants, and banners. Select from one of our stock designs, or send us your ideas to create your very own custom flag.

I have been a professional custom flag and banner maker since 1983. It is truly an art and I feel so passionate about the work I do. I owned and operated a flag shop called Flying Colors Ltd. on Thames Street in Newport, Rhode Island for nearly fourteen years. We had a retail store that serviced homeowners, businesses, the America's Cup teams, hundreds of boaters, as well as many of the US Navy sh

ips stationed there. Fast forward to 2007 and to Seattle, Washington and the revival of our business. Many of our old customers, who became part of the family in Newport, can once again hoist their flags. Our new customers are just as thrilled to have found such a treasure. Take a look at some of the amazing custom work I have had the pleasure and honor of making, it may inspire your own creativity. Have some fun and send in your ideas, I am open and willing to help create your work of art. We have always been known for the quality of our workmanship and customer service. I look forward to working with you. - Carol Anderson

An eBay seller is using stolen photos of our hand-sewn flag, including pictures of me and my home, to sell cheap mass-produced versions. I have reported this to eBay multiple times and the listing is still up.

I created this flag on January 30, 2017, just days after the first Trump inauguration. I am not a designer. I typed RESIST into a text document and my mom sewed the first flag by hand - the flag in all these photos. We have sold these ever since, including a Made in the USA printed nylon version.

I understand this is a simple design and imitation can be flattery, but stealing photos of me and my home is a violation.

Tagging in the hope a human sees this and helps.

This is my grandfather’s old cap. He served in WWII and received a Purple Heart.

The cap has his Taunton Fire Department patch from his years as a volunteer, along with pins from Disabled American Veterans.

Behind it is one of the first resist flags I designed years later, during a very different kind of moment in history.

These days, I help my mom, his daughter, run this small business. She’s thinking about retiring in the next year or two, and it’s had me reflecting a lot on legacy, courage, and what it means to stand up for what you love.

Different generations. Same heart. ❤️
