Did you know Epiphanies of Equity has expanded its capacity to work with more clients? That's because the team has grown to include two Associate Consultants and a small but mighty admin team!

Lately, a lot of you have asked about EOE and whether we were at capacity. Absolutely not! We are open and able to help with strategic plans, policy reviews, procedure audits, training and workforce development, change management/ leadership roadmaps, and more.

Epiphanies of Equity on behalf of King County Office of Equity and Social Justice (OESJ) is looking for participants in a listening group centered around the intersectional identities of disabled and/or neurodivergent black & indigenous people of color in King County.

We are looking to speak to Disabled People of the Global Majority (BIPOC) within King County. Disability is defined as inclusive, intersectional, and universal. You may be self-diagnosed, invisible, live with chronic illness, I/DD, etcetera.

Participation in this research will work towards amplifying our voices to inform and advocate for policy shifts at the County and your experience and opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Survey Participants Must be Residents of King County.

Interviews are expected to take 45 - 60 minutes of your time.

Interviews can be conducted via Zoom, Google Meet, Phone Call, Text, or in-person between January 20th and February 3rd.

All participants will receive an honorarium of $100.

We can provide accommodations for your interview such as automatic captions, providing questions ahead of time, more processing time, plain language, accessible buildings for in-person meetings, etc.

For accommodations that would require hiring a contractor such as ASL interpretation, please reach out to us as soon as you can so we can find and coordinate interpretation with our appointment time.

When we talk about any strategy, bottleneck, or problem regarding inequity, (including justice, accessibility, diversity, governance, inclusion, etc.) we're inherently talking about a - Sociological - problem. If we want to be specific, a foundational PsychoSocial situation.

That's why the book I recommend the most to clients is "Change: How organizations Achieve Hard-to-Imagine Results in Uncertain and Volatile Times" by John Kotter. This is my third time reading it.

The most "Uncertain and Volatile" variable of all equity issues are Humans. This is why equity strategies and plans fail or stall without incorporating the Human element required for effective, collective, and sustainable progress.

Reading this again to inform some exciting projects and essays coming soon. Let me know if you want to hear more thoughts and tips as I read through this and other books! 🤓
