Many of you know I’m not someone who asks for help easily. But life has placed my family and me on a challenging path, and I’ve learned that accepting support can be an act of strength.

I am beginning treatment tomorrow for a serious health condition, and my son has created a GoFundMe to help us navigate the medical and logistical realities ahead. His words and support have meant the world to me.

Love & fear cannot live under the same roof or exist simultaneously within the workplace or classroom. Somewhere along the journey we learned that in order to be successful in the corporate world, we must be ruthlessly assertive in order to achieve recognition and upward promotion. We have nearly lost sight of the fact that we human beings are, by nature, connected with each other. In this truth lies an amazing opportu­nity for meaningful human encounters and outcomes. You can choose to lead with love, at your job and in your home!

In transformative leadership, nothing is more vital than the ability to lead with love. Over my years working as an executive in the banking in­dustry, I frequently chose to bring this unusual concept forward with my peers and in my development of future leaders.

The world is changing at an ever-increasing rate, but we have the power to pause, reflect and grow on our own timeline. Conscious leadership asks us to stop propagating the mainstream option of being victims of an unfair and harsh reality and instead inhabit an expanded, illuminated mindset. The choice to wake up is yours, and the time to make that choice is NOW!

The world we inhabit is changing at such speed and frenetic accelera­tion that in order to keep pace we must ourselves evolve, not from the Darwinian thesis of survival-of-the-fittest and physical evolution, but rather from the next step in the human story, conscious evolution.
