A Gala Auction of the Wedding Industry Professionals Association. At auctions, I typically paint during the cocktail hour/silent auction, and the painting is sold in the live auction. The buyers get added to the painting before the night is over. Everyone here was painted from life; only the buyers actually stood still.

My live paintings are mostly alla prima— done all in one sitting. There can be minor touch ups in the studio after, while still preserving the immediacy of the quick brushstrokes of live action.
