I left my job after 12 successful years.

It was scary to leave the comfort of a great job.

But, after both my immigrant parents died, I thought there was no better time to pursue helping the
people I wanted to help on purpose.

I didn’t have any idea how I was going to make things work. I just had a strong sense that I wanted to
build on my skills and experiences to facilitate and coach successful immigrants.

At some point, my desire to do this was stronger than my desire for the comfort of staying in a great job.

So, I dove deep into honing my coaching skills and learned more and more about the art of facilitating
and it was the best decision I could’ve made.

If you are an immigrant working in the U.S. or a second-generation immigrant and you’re doing
something you don’t love anymore, staying in a job or situation because you feel pressured or too
scared to make a change, this message is for you.

Because, when I worked with my first client from South American who wanted to get a long-deserved
raise and work through some challenging dynamics with her mom, it was all worth it!

I call these folks immigrant innovators. They’re first and second-generation immigrants who are
contributing with their dedication, skills and knowledge from another culture.

If you’re one of those folks and wanting to make a change, don’t wait to take a step. It could be the best decision of your life.

Today is not just the FIRST day of a new month…

It is the first day of a new journey for me…

I’m a little nervous and pretty excited about it, but today is the day that I will be a published author of a little illustrated book that I created with my friend Monica .

This has been the first creative journey of its kind for me.

It was an opportunity to connect with my own creativity in a way that I would have judged in the past.

I wasn’t always great at allowing my own creativity.

Through the process of self coaching and managing my own mind about doing something that was so unconnected to anything
I’ve ever done before is what ultimately made it happen.

In my Ambassador Event Creativity Workshop yesterday, we talked about the things we tell ourselves that hold us back from acting on that creative project.

For me, it was, “This is so not like me, I’m not THAT creative, no one cares, it’s not that great of an idea.”

I needed to really look at that way of thinking and shift to a more useful way to look at it in order for me to get the idea out into the world.

So, if you have an idea that you’ve been sitting on, I would love to talk to you about the power of self coaching and coaching in general to help you get it out into the world.

Think of all the people that would love to experience your idea. What fun is that, right?!

Maybe that would be a first for you. Even the greats were beginners at some point.

I’m here today on the first day of the month to encourage you to take the first step.

What is a small step you can take toward your idea or goal that you can get started with in December?

I like crying in meetings.

It means something meaningful has happened. There’s been a shift, an unexpected ‘aha’, a realization, a deep connection.

Today, I shared with a stranger a story, a meaningful moment story, that I had with my mom before she passed.

Not what you’d normally share in a “meeting “. But, I was invited. The space was safe and open.

Then, I reflected and took a walk as I often do after this. Even if it’s raining.

Who has cried in a meeting recently?

Drop a tear 🥲 in the comments if you’re with me.

I’m looking for 5 people who want to learn how to get through the holiday season with more ease in the next 30 days.

This is for you if you want to give yourself the gift of less self-judgment, if you want to be fully present for opening presents, and if you don’t want to go through the holidays being frustrated by loved ones, like when you grit your teeth at your uncle's bad jokes... again!

If this is you, DM me or comment below with the words ‘end of year ease’ and I’ll get you more details.

I love hats! Maybe that’s why I enjoy facilitation so much.

Facilitators wear many hats.

When you design a facilitated session, you are potentially taking on several roles throughout the session. Depending on the intention for each moment of your workshop, you may find yourself being a leader, a coach, an MC, a cruise director, or a cowboy.

We lead discussions, help people collaborate, facilitate discovery of their own thoughts and ideas, keep time, create moods, and change energy.

If you think there is potential for you to improve your skills in workshop design, join me this Tuesday and Wednesday for two ½ days of Workshop Design online .

Details in the link below.

Let’s try on some hats together!

October is my favorite month! 🎃

Partly because of the turn of seasons. 🍁

Party because it’s my birthday month. 🎉

Partly because for years I’ve visited my sister and her family in October. 🧒👦

This year, seeing the aspen coins swaying in the soft wind warmed my heart. 🍂

Looking over these majestic vistas and vast meadows filled me with such gratitude. 🙏🏻

We stopped many times to breath in the fresh air.

We stopped and took in the details of the colors of the views and of one single leaf.

What are you grateful for this weekend?

Wishing you all a fall full of gratitude!
