“The Overlook Walk is now open! 🌉

The rooftop of the Ocean Pavilion connects to the new Overlook Walk. Together, they form an elevated public park connecting to the waterfront for the very first time! 👯‍♀️

On the Ocean Pavilion's rooftop, you’ll discover native plantings designed with guidance from traditional ecological knowledge-keeper Valerie Segrest ()(Muckleshoot), co-founder and principal at Tahoma Peak Solutions—as well as sandblasted images led by Owen Oliver () (Quinault/Isleta Pueblo) of . Come on down (or head on up) to check it out! 🐚”

“I’m many things
a Daughter
Granddaughter
Niece
a Cousin
Friend
an Auntie
Future grandmother

Last weekend I saw what it is to be in Community
Through prayerful
Ceremony
Teachings carried and passed down
Generations to generations
Nothing withheld
I can be many things
When held in community

We have been honored to be a part of walking with traditional medicine programs and their medicine and cultural knowledge teachers run in the Pacific Northwest like Nakani Native Program.

These offerings are given freely in song, in the sound of the drum, the laughter of our people, in the smell of sweet grass and sage, in the tears, and in huckleberry jam.

These gifts
This healing work
A salve to our communities

We can now drum and sing alongside them and we’re grateful.”

"That value of welcoming is not just compassionate talk. There is proof that sanctuary policies are working, keeping residents safer than in places that collaborate with Immigration and Customs Enforcement tactics."

Where local governments collaborate with ICE, deportations have increased more than 75 percent. New Mexico shows a different way.
