AeroTEC was founded with the goal of providing turn-key flight testing, data analysis, and FAA certification services for aircraft OEM's and modifiers.

AeroTEC was founded in 2001 at Boeing Field in Seattle WA, with the goal of providing turn-key flight testing, data analysis, and FAA certification services for aircraft OEM's and modifiers. Since then we have expanded to our current offices in Seattle, just north of KBFI, and added a flight test center in Moses Lake, WA, as well as our own hangar! We have also expanded our service offerings to in

clude engineering design, light manufacturing for aerospace production, performance analysis, CFD analysis, wind tunnel testing, and more. We can now usher your aerospace modification from engineering and design to prototype manufacturing, testing, and certification. We are truly your one-stop certification and flight test center!

A look back at one of our landmark programs: certifying Aviation Partners Boeing's (APB) Split Scimitar Winglets (SWW) on the 737-700, -800, and -900.

APB developed the SSW, replacing the aluminum winglet tip cap with an aerodynamically shaped scimitar for the 737NG aircraft. AeroTEC's role was the certification work: flight testing and data analysis, developing the AFM supplement, securing FAA STC certification, and completing icing certification across all three models.

That meant retaining CAT III autoland capability, retaining original FAA certification rules in critical areas, accounting for a diverse 6,000-aircraft fleet, and meeting new FAA icing rules on an older airframe design. All three models were certified within two percent of the proposal estimates.

AeroTEC supported EPU integration, motor mount design, systems integration, and flight test for the world's largest all-electric aircraft at the time.

2020 – 2022 | Eviation Aircraft Alice All-Electric Commuter Aircraft
Conceptual design trade studies and flight test support for the all-electric commuter aircraft.

2021 – 2023 | Universal Hydrogen Hydrogen-Powered Dash 8 Conversion
Nacelle structure design, systems integration, and aircraft modification supporting the first flight of a hydrogen-powered regional airliner.

2022 – 2025 | NASA / magniX Electrified Powertrain Flight Demonstrator (EPFD)
Serving as aircraft-level integrators on the Dash-7 EPFD program, advancing industry knowledge of hybrid propulsion systems.

At AeroTEC, our engineers design, fabricate, and instrument custom wind tunnel models in-house, from initial concept through data analysis.

A few things that set our approach apart:
✔ Materials range from aluminum, steel, and plastic to composites and high-density foam, built using CNC machining, 3D printing, and composite layup
✔ Optional features include powered control surfaces, instrumentation and pressure ports, and control surface forces & hinge measurement
