Military service can mean learning how to operate under pressure, communicate clearly, and understand what's at stake when systems fail. As a veteran-owned business, we carry the best of that mindset forward into infrastructure modernization: http://tamazari.com

What's a lesson from high-stakes work that's stayed with you?

More solar means more complexity behind the meter and across the grid. Modern SCADA gives utilities the visibility and control to manage that complexity without slowing operations down.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) says data centers used about 4.4% of U.S. electricity in 2023 and could reach 6.7% to 12% by 2028. At the same time, PJM Interconnection, the grid operator for much of the Mid-Atlantic, has moved toward requiring some new data centers and other large power users to bring their own generation or accept early curtailment.

That changes the diligence lens.

The real question isn’t just how many megawatts a site can advertise today. It’s about bankable power, durable interconnection, strong grid and substation positioning, network capacity for future tenants, and site optionality. That’s the difference between underwriting equipment and underwriting infrastructure.

Plus, there’s another layer to consider: community durability. Microsoft recently said that winning local trust has become paramount as opposition grows over power prices, water use, and pollution. A site can work on paper and still fail in public.

Which factor do you think the market is still undervaluing most when judging a mining site?

Gerald Matarazzo, Tamazari’s Director of Technology Strategy, was recently invited by the NYS Department of Transportation’s Fleet Administration & Support team to present at their all-hands meeting. The purpose of the session was to share knowledge, provide training, and highlight the best tools Samsara offers for fleet supervisors.

Drawing from his work supporting NYSDOT, Gerry spoke about how to get more out of the platform and when to leverage a resident consultant depending on the complexity of the need. He also covered Samsara’s impressive range of reporting options, including Advanced Custom Reports (ACR) and more complex API configurations, as well as how to schedule prefiltered automated reports so the right info reaches the right people at the right time. The session also included custom training, proactive alerts, and workflows that help teams stay ahead of issues before they become bigger problems.

All in all, It was a valuable opportunity to share practical insight from real-world experience and help NYSDOT use Samsara to improve fleet operations.

Proud to see Gerry representing Tamazari through our partnership with Samsara and sharing expertise that helps organizations like NYSDOT get more value from their telematics investment.

What if one of the biggest barriers to grid expansion isn’t policy or engineering, but aesthetics?

We tend to talk about transmission delays like they’re purely technical. Our latest blog article challenges that thinking. It explores how transmission tower design can influence public acceptance, reduce friction, and help move critical projects forward faster. If you think tower design is a side issue, this article might just completely change your mind: https://www.tamazari.com/post/why-innovative-transmission-tower-design-could-be-the-key-to-faster-grid-expansion

Everyone wants to call a site "AI-ready." Far fewer want to define what that actually means. Why does this matter? The market is getting less interested in labels and a lot more concerned with what’s actually connectable, financeable, and durable. AI-ready can’t just mean land, a headline MW number, and a good story.

These 5 questions help you slow down and separate real infrastructure readiness from sales language. Instead of taking a site claim at face value, they provide a better way to evaluate the bigger picture. This matters because asking smarter questions means less time wasted on the wrong site.
What’s the first thing you’d pressure-test before taking any AI-ready claim seriously?

Doom scrolling feels like a personal habit. But, at scale, it’s a systems story. Every swipe, stream, refresh, and notification depends on infrastructure most people never see: the energy backbone that keeps all of it running. Ericsson says mobile network data traffic grew 20% between Q3 2024 and Q3 2025, and its global 2025 figure for mobile data traffic is 143 exabytes per month. What feels effortless to the user is anything but simple behind the scenes.

When expectations keep rising but the systems underneath are aging, complexity turns into risk fast. For energy providers, that means the pressure shows up everywhere at once. Tamazari’s Energy IT Modernization services are built around exactly that challenge. We help utilities modernize core platforms like CIS, AMI, OMS, SCADA, ERP, and GIS without disrupting what already works. Yesterday’s exclusive gathering hosted by Braiins was one of the best events of the year yet. Our Director of Client Partnerships, Brandon Mueller, was honored to be there, connecting with leaders who are actively defining bitcoin’s future. For us, the value of events like this goes far beyond attendance. It's about building lasting relationships, exchanging insight with the people moving the industry forward, and creating the kind of trust that leads to meaningful work.
Thank you to Braiins, Kristian Csepcsar and Ryan Miller, MBA for the invitation and for bringing together such a strong group of industry leaders (special shout out to Mason Carter of Giga Energy and Dan Erhardt of Arcobi).
