I set up a website in 2004, around the same time I started teaching college English and psychology. At the time I was also working with students in the college writing lab. Before that, I worked for a small publisher, which is when I found out I could edit without knowing about the subject. My first project there was a veterinarians' reference book about snakes, and the second was about Heidegger

and existentialism, so there was quite a range. Once I opened as a business, my very first clients were a group of graduate students in architecture from all over the world. Again, I had no clue about the subject, but I discovered that I could help non-native speakers of English.
