Our walking tour of maker spaces in Sebastopol was such a hit! We spent the morning visiting some really cool places in the downtown area:
Sonoma County's premier makerspace....while we were there we had a chance to chat with Jordan from about making knives, Craig from about woodworking, and Skyler from about all the other fun tools at the space. And of course I showed off the fiber arts department where I'm teaching sewing classes
Rachel showed us around, we got see a pottery glazing class in action, a mixed media art class setting up, and we got to cruise through their current art exhibit
Katie at North Bay Letterpress Arts showed us all of their printing press machines, some of which are from the 1800's and still being used for printing by their members and for classes
We stopped by Art & Soul to visit with Sabina about their art classes and we got to check out their awesome artist's shared studio space, where you can pay for a monthly membership to make art and safely store your work in your very own giant locker.
We got to chat with Erin, one of the owners of Gather, about their classes, curated retail space, and their commitment to building community
