If you’ve ever visited Secret Gardens Winery & Farm, chances are she’s welcomed you, checked on your table, made you laugh, and possibly convinced you to stay for one more glass of wine.

Happy Birthday to the woman who makes guests feel at home and somehow keeps this whole beautiful chaos running behind the scenes. We thought about posting her age today… but some secrets around here are meant to stay hidden.

Today, it’s finally her turn to relax, enjoy a well-deserved day off, and be celebrated for everything she does. 🥂

Happy Mother’s Day to our resident winery mom, Val. 💐🍷

If you’ve ever visited Secret Gardens Winery & Farm, chances are you’ve experienced a little bit of her magic behind the scenes. She’s keeps us on budget and is the paperwork master, homeopathic care guru, vacation initiator, and the woman responsible for making sure the dogs get equal treat distribution.

The winery dogs may have officially replaced the rest of us as the favorite children with premium bacon privileges, but that’s just who she is. She takes care of everyone around her… people and pets included.

She has worked tirelessly to help build this dream and support our family, often without wanting recognition for it. Through long days, challenges, and some difficult health seasons, she has always been someone who shows up for others first and never hesitates to lend a hand where it’s needed most.

And if your espresso martini or wine cocktail tasted extra good, there’s a solid chance it passed through Val’s highly selective “quality control department” first. Strict standards around here. ☕🍸

Cheers to the woman who helps keep this whole place running. We love you, Val! 🥂✨

Today we’re celebrating a very special milestone- Rick & Val’s 41st wedding anniversary. 41 years of commitment, partnership, and building a life together is something truly worth recognizing.

A few funny lessons 41 years of marriage has taught them:

• Communication is key… but timing is everything.

• You don’t have to agree on everything… just agree on what actually matters (and what’s not worth the energy).

• The thermostat is a battleground. Pick your side wisely.

• If you’re both a little stubborn, at least one of you better be funny..(it’s usually Lexi)

• Love is choosing the same person over and over… even when they’re being the most crazy stubborn and somewhat annoying version of themselves.

• And most importantly… always keep a bottle of wine nearby. Not for the romance— for the negotiations.

41 years later, they’ve mastered the art of working through it, laughing through it, and still showing up for each other every single day—which is the real secret.

Cheers to 41 years of love, patience, and growing together… like a really good bottle of Elderberry that only gets better with time 🍷❤️
