📦 Free Drop-Offs: Help us turn a pain point into something sustainable for us all 📦

We want to let you in on the honest small-business reality that the big businesses don’t want you to know 💙

When corporate giants advertise “FREE RETURNS,” that doesn't mean the service is free for independent local stores. Nationwide Pack & Ship still pays real weekly overhead to keep our doors open as a drop-off hub. Here are some of the things we pay to provide this service:
🚚 Carrier pickup fees & software licensing
👩‍💼 Real local employee wages
🏢 Rent, utilities, and insurance
🖨️ Professional printers, labels, toner, and heavy-duty tape

The reality of the scan: Online retailers don't pay us to process “Free” drop-off items. Independent stores receive only a tiny fraction of a dollar per scanned box from 2 of the 3 major carriers (FedEx, UPS, and DHL). Pennies don’t cover the labor, materials, or manual processing.

What are other small businesses doing?

✅ Charging for boxes, tape, and packaging materials
✅ Service fees if staff has to tape, pack, or guide the customer through the process of locating, sending, and printing the label

Listen to your bank: If they refuse a wire transfer, do not send a check or cash instead. Ask them why it was flagged. 🏦
