Sometimes you gotta make yourself a little stairway on the big ones, Just like the old timers did it! Maybe someone will come along in 100 years and find my springboard holes like I find all the time in the old growth stumps out in the woods 🤔

Well I forgot to take any before pics, but here are some after pics. Cleared 1/4 acre in camano in 1.5 days. Removed 6 big firs, a bunch of scrubby alders, and alot of blackberries. Landowners are happy, neighbors are happy, equipment’s loaded and ready for the next job, all is well. On to the next one!

We’re gettin the next generation involved early around here! Not sure if everyone knows or not but back in July of last year we welcomed our son, Grady John Hudson, into the world. Named after my great grandfather, Grady, who started running a steam donkey back in the 1930s. It brings me great pride to be able to share all of this with my son. This whole company is all for him to hopefully want to take over, with pride of his own one day, and carry on the Hudson name. Grady will be a 5th generation logger! Im Very excited to get to work side by side with my son one day!

Well would ya look at that! Barging some logs off of Decatur island this morning! Wood bound for SPI in Burlington. Big shoutout to Papi from sibi firewood and Rick love AKA “nighthawk” for coming out here with their trucks and San Juan marine freight for the boat ride. It’s all about teamwork to make things like this happen and we all make a great team! We’ll be back next week to get the second round of wood off the island.

Took out some big, dead, half rotten fir trees for this client on the island today. These were right on the border of the HOA forest with their walking trail right behind them. With dead limbs over 6 inches in diameter and weighing hundreds of pounds these were definitely safety hazards to the community. An accident waiting to happen, now safely avoided!

Spent the last few days over in gilligan creek cleaning up an absolute nightmare of a mess that some other contractor left for this landowner to deal with. Now that all the debris are cleared and the ground leveled they can proceed with their horse pasture for their new horses. Another satisfied customer! On to the next project

And we’re back to the thinning! Time for a little Sunday-funday action. Should have this little job pretty well wrapped up by the end of the day. Then it’s off to stanwood for some clearing/dirtwork! Our schedule for the upcoming spring/summer still has some availability so if you’re looking to do some forestry work on your property shoot us a message!
