Seguin native Ms. Barbara Lee Ewing attended Lizzie M. Burges Elementary and Ball High School during segregation before graduating from Seguin High School. With an undergraduate degree from Texas Lutheran College and several postgraduate degrees in higher education, her 39-year career as teacher and administrator became exemplary. Through personal anecdotes Ms. Ewing talks to us about persevering as the first black representative on city council and how she came to know education is the key to success.

The Seguin Public Library in collaboration with Seguin Storytellers bring you a monthly one-hour presentations in the Community Meeting Room. Let's come together to celebrate Seguin's heritage and community spirit every last Sunday of each month for insightful stories shared by longtime residents who've shaped our city's history and culture.

This program is free and open to the public.
Seguin Storytellers, will meet monthly, on the last Sunday of the month. Seguin Storytellers are community members who share compelling personal accounts of their experiences in Seguin and other locations around the globe
