The New Church
On November 15, 2017 I was asleep in bed when the lord gave me a dream. In my dream I was traveling southbound on US highway 87 just past China Grove when I received a text from my good friend Very Brown. The text read that there would be a benefit to celebrate the new 1st Baptist church of Sutherland Springs. This was in the wake of the church shooting in Southerland Springs. I then kept driving until I came to a big concrete building with a few windows up high. When I parked my car, and exited the vehicle a gentleman medium build with a well-trimmed brownish beard told me to come and see our new building. When I entered the building, it was huge and made up of concrete benches that resembled the seats of a Colosseum. I noticed there were few people in the seats and the ones who were there were weeping and looked exhausted. I sat down at one of the seats and could faintly hear someone preaching, but could not see any one around.
Just then My friend Veryl Brown found me and said, “Jeff this is not the new church let me take you to the new church. I followed him down a long corridor that filled with people so fast I lost my friend Veryl in the crowd. Once I came into the large room it resembled a stadium with comfortable seats that had high backs. One of the ushers sat me down and told me this will be my seat from now on. There were many happy people around me telling me that this was the greatest message they ever heard. I looked, and I could see no pastor but I heard a loud voice like thunder speaking of the love of God. Then a girl about thirty years old sat down beside me and said “this is not our new church come I will show you our new church.”
The girl was in her late 20’s or early 30’s thin and had long straight brown hair. She took me by the hand and led me down a set of steps till we were outside of the building when we came to a narrow walk way there was a river so clear you could see the stones at the bottom of the river. I looked and in the river was a man dressed in white and there was a long line of people all in red robes when the man baptized them in the river they arose with close that were as white as snow. On the shore there was a pastor continually preaching good words and a congregation dressed in white listening to the message hanging on every word. As the pastor preached the congregation turned and left and made way for others to listen to the message.
I saw just behind the pastor a Facebook friend named Linda Lou. Excited I yelled to her, “I know what this place is.” I then dove into the river and reached down and took hold of a handful of the rocks that were at the bottom of the river they were clean and had no dirt or mud on them. When I emerged from the river I looked, and I held 5 smooth stones. When I awoke I had such a wonderful feeling I thought that this is what heaven must be like. However later the lord gave me an interpretation to the dream.
The interpretation goes like this. The first building represents the church that is imprisoned by works. They continually serve in the church and never find rest. Therefore they were weeping. The reason why there was so few is because they could not see nor hear the embedded word of God, so they would become burned out and leave the church. Some due to offence and others due to over committing themselves to works and falling away by the roadside.
The other building represents the feel-good church. The one where they could hear the embedded word of God but not act on it. Therefore, there were many people who were happy and comfortable in their religion, but not acting on the word of God. These according to Revelations were Luke warm (Revelations 3:15-17). They say that they are rich by the word they heard and the expensive churches they build but they have no fruit. They grow fat while the world perishes. This is the lazy church that needs to open their eyes to the works of salvation.
The last Church represented the church that God loves to see. The people being baptized were the world they were bloodied by the world and the sinfulness of man. as the world came in they were baptized and prepared for to do good works of salvation by listening to the embedded word of God. The pastor represented the embedded word of God as it was spoken there was thunder, and that thunder moved the congregation to not just stand there but go out into the cities and streets where they spread the word of God and lead others in salvations prayer. As some in the congregation heard the word they would leave and do the works that the word ingrained into their spirits. Other new members who were saved and baptized would come and hear the message so that they would be prepared to share it with the world.
The interpretation of the five smooth stones God told me was that when we dive into His calling we will receive the power to do what He has called us to do. Note that when David defeated Goliath, David had five smooth stones, yet it only took one shot. Four represents the Father, the son, the holy spirit and the one who is called according to the purpose God has given. Four is not a magic number but when we go out into the world we need not be afraid because of the three other rocks that go with us. I am convinced that this is the testimony and the interpretation of the dream I had on November 15, 2017 and no man can convince me otherwise.
