One of the best things about life is our ability to dream, and one of the best things about dreams is their ability to grow and change as we do. A couple of years ago, I set the intention that I would like to work with horses full-time, whatever that may look like for me and my intrinsic abilities and skillset. Yes, it goes without saying that was a tall order for a long list of reasons. So, I decided at the time to just hold onto the intention and continue to work on gaining as much knowledge as I can to become the best partner I can be for all of the horses that I will cross paths with in my life.
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to do an internship with Noah Tillman-Young of Steady Horse. I've worked on and off with Noah now for over ten years, but admittedly it had mostly been when I was having an issue with one of my horses that I needed his guidance in working through. But if you know me, you know that he has undoubtedly been one of the greatest influences in my horsemanship journey.
After the internship was complete, Noah and I talked about continuing to work together and what that might look like. I had already committed to compete in the BEHS Rescue Training Horse Challenge in the Non-Pro division and it was/is important to me to see that commitment through. But I'm excited to say that I will be joining the Steady Horse team full-time in early October to help grow the training and clinic program! I am so grateful for the opportunity to continue to work alongside and learn from one of the greatest horsemen out there and who is also genuinely just a wonderful and kind human.
Two Socks Designs will be taking a backseat for the time being come October. I'm not sure exactly what the future will hold for it (most likely just an Etsy shop), but again, it is itself another dream that is allowed to grow and change 💙💙💙
