✨🔨 Women Build 2026 starts Wednesday. Meet the teams who are building with us!

We are excited to welcome an incredible group of teams joining us this week for Women Build 2026. Beginning Wednesday, these community partners will roll up their sleeves to build and decorate custom playhouses that will later be available through the Habitat Store, helping support Yakima Habitat’s work across Yakima County.

This year’s project is made possible through the support and collaboration of many partners. We are grateful to Schuel’s Lumber for their support, to West Valley Construction Instructor Stephen Matczak and students from Key Club for helping cut the playhouse kits and assembling one for the project, and to Starla Gable and Deedra Phillips for volunteering to serve as project leads alongside our Habitat construction team throughout the week.

Be sure to mark your calendar for the “She Nailed It!” Playhouse Reveal on Tuesday, March 24 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Yakima Habitat Store, where the community can see the finished playhouses up close.

Our brain processes (notices) every single item in our environment whether we are conscious of it or not. When you declutter a space, in essence you are allowing your brain to do less work and as a result you feel more calm. The feeling of chaos comes from randomness, disorder, and overwhelm. As you declutter, the level of these three decrease hence calming your mind. So if you feel you are in a state of chaos start by taking an objective look at your environment, decide what you can let go, what you can put away, and how you can decrease the random visual input your brain has to process.
