One of the benefits of being a BNI member is the opportunity to be a Featured Speaker.
Instead of just your weekly one-minute pitch and ask, you get about 10 minutes dedicated to your business — a chance to go deeper into what you do, why you do it, who your ideal clients and referral partners are, and what the rest of us should be listening for when we’re out in the community.
Because the more your chapter understands your business, the better they can become advocates for you and recognize the right opportunities to connect you with someone who needs what you do.
We’ve learned about everything from electrical services and construction to accounting, lending, nonprofits, software, and more through our members’ featured presentations. Every presentation gives us a better understanding of each other’s businesses and helps strengthen those referral relationships.
There’s another benefit too: practice. Being a Featured Speaker gives you a chance to work on public speaking, telling your story, explaining your value, and getting more comfortable sharing your business with a room full of people.
BNI is networking, but it’s also relationship building, education, referrals, and professional growth.
