The Leaf Sheep Sea Slug!!!
Say that 3 times real fast. And it looks like a little sheep.
YES - lives in the ocean but we thought it was too cute not to share. It steals the ability to photosynthesize from plants. It's 5 mm long. It's smaller than a grain of rice.

Found in shallow Pacific waters. It lives on a certain type of algae.

Cerata...not leaves coming out of it. Extensions of its own digestive gland. It has a needle like radula that it uses to pierce the algae wall that it feeds on.
It uses kleptoplasty.

That's stolen photosynthesis, and it's the only animal on earth that does this. Inside each one of those extensions on its back is producing photosynthesis, they eat sunlight. Solar powered and can survive months without feeding. They are both male and female at the same time.

Isn't that the coolest thing ever?

Fall Ball Schedule Update

Due to the high temperatures, all games scheduled for the remainder of this week (9/1 - 9/3) are postponed.

These games will be moved to the end of the regular season. As a result, the postseason tournament will now finish after Fall Break. Updated dates and times will be shared as soon as the revised schedule is finalized.

Meet the Luna Moth 💚 One of the largest moths in North America.
Fun fact: adult luna moths don’t eat at all. Once they emerge, they only live for about a week, focusing on finding a mate and completing their life cycle. Those long tail streamers? They may even help throw off bats trying to catch them.

Not every bug is a pest. Just here to make things interesting 😉
