Unfortunately theft does occur in the timber business. It is rare, but a serious violation of trust between a timber company and its client as well as the law.

Cutting timber should be an exciting time for a landowner, and it will be if you are working with a reputable company that cares about your trust and your goals.

The owner of a timber company is facing multiple felony charges following a timber theft investigation involving victims in five North Carolina counties, including Onslow and Pender.

The N.C. Forest Service says the more than two-year investigation led to the arrest of Joel Blake Lee, owner of Frontier Timber, Inc.
