How many bucks do you see? They’re starting to group back up, which can make for good late season hunting. The does have kept this plot mowed down but the bucks are still finding plenty to eat. There are 4 bucks in this video.

Food, access and travel…..you can control them all. Notice how determined this doe was to get through this area? Watch her body language, she wasn’t scared she was hungry. When you lay out your food plots, stand site, bedding areas and your entrance and exit routes; you can hunt deer without them ever knowing you were there.

A photo can say a thousand words. This pic from 2019 doesn’t show any clear cuts, food plots, feeders or funnels. What it does show is an old field in a great stage of regrowth creating excellent edge cover. This field came into an “overgrown” condition, produced excellent daytime buck activity for several years and then began to decline in activity as the trees matured. It is currently in need of work and will be thinned using various methods to make it more desirable to deer once again.

This is a part of what our services look like. We discuss your property and understand your goals first. Then we come visit your property, look around, ask questions, mark locations, scout for current deer activity, answer your questions, point out steps that we plan to recommend and more.

What we do after the site visit:
Design a customized plan to improve your hunting.
Map your entire property (similar to this one.)
Provide a list of action steps, in order of importance.
Provide hunt strategies for each stand/blind.
Answer any questions you have and address those.
Are available for follow up as you implement the plan.

In designing your custom plan; we consider your goals, capabilities, land features, current herd health, buck age structure, prevailing wind directions, neighboring land uses, current hunting pressure and more.

Soft mast can be a great tool to find early season success. These “Mexican Plums” are extremely attractive to deer and also pest resistant. They will produce fruit that can stay on the branches through several frosts. These trees grow very well in Oklahoma and Texas.
