While we’ve seen Jolene’s elusive mate before, it’s a rare treat to catch him on camera! This mysterious male was recently spotted nearby, and while he won’t be helping raise any little ones (that’s all Jolene’s job!), his presence is an exciting sign for bobcat activity here.

This stealthy male is usually on the move under the cover of darkness, keeping a wide-ranging territory. Like Jolene, he’s a skilled hunter and keeps mostly to himself, but his occasional appearances remind us of the thriving wildlife at The Preserve. Keep watching—these quiet, powerful presences are what make our ecosystem so special. 🐾

🐝🚫 Swarm Prevention Techniques: Keep Your Colonies Content! Spring is prime time for bee swarms, but with the right techniques, you can minimize the chances of your bees taking off. Here's how to keep your colonies happy and at home.

Regular Hive Inspections:

Check for signs of overcrowding, queen cells, and other indicators of a potential swarm.
Ensure the queen has enough space to lay eggs and the colony has room to grow.
Manage Hive Space:

Add extra boxes or frames when the hive is 70-80% full to give bees more room.
Practice 'checkerboarding' by alternating empty frames with brood frames.
Monitor Queen Health:

A strong, healthy queen is less likely to lead a swarm.
Consider requeening if your queen is older or showing signs of reduced laying.
Swarm Control Splits:

If you notice strong signs of swarming, splitting the hive can be an effective solution.

Currently serving Seminole Texas area for residential and commercial dog waste removal. While dog p**p is NOT a renewable resource. We dispose of that properly. We do have chicken, guinea pig, chicken, horse manure available for sale to use in composting, if anyone is needing for their gardens. Guinea pig , rabbit and goat manure is a “cold “ manure and can get tilled/spread directly into garden beds. Horse, chicken manure is considered a “ hot” manure and needs to be composted and broken down first, it is not for direct garden use. We will be working on adding/ selling goat, rabbit, cow manure as our personal family farm grows and will be adding worm tea and worm castings( manure) as our worm farms take off.
