Youth Weekend is just right around the corner! So, that means it's time to get going on our
☆☆2026 YOUTH HUNTER GIVEAWAY!☆☆

One hunter will win a FREE whitetail shoulder mount from CJ's Elite Taxidermy!

We undertand that not all youth are going to be on facebook to enter, so whoever wins will get to choose someone under the age of 18 to have their deer mounted. This does not have to be your child. It can be a friends kid, family member, or just a youth you know that has been getting out there and would love to have their buck or doe turned into a trophy to last them a lifetime!

What an amazing and BUSY weekend we had! Clint and I finished it off working up some elk meat together. ( I'm there, you can just barely see me😅). After 2 days of birthday parties, it's time to get back to it!

I know it's already Tuesday (even though I have thought it was Monday all day🫠), but I hope everyone had a wonderful 1st weekend of Oklahoma bow season! We've definitely been busy! It's always exciting to see everyone's harvest and hear everyone's stories! As always, feel to call if you need anything! We'd love to help preserve your memory for a lifetime!
Also, I rarely let lil man in the shop, but when he wakes up from his nap right when a customer comes to drop off he gets to come see the deer too😄 and he LOVES it! I just love to hear him say 'MAMA, BIG BUCK!' over and over. 😅

What a hunt!! In case you didn't know, Clint is basically my hunting guide! He works his butt off to make sure I am able to have an amazing hunt when I can get a chance to go. From finding the animal, putting out feed, cameras, blinds, all the things! He spends countless hours to make it all come together. This elk was no exception, he definitely made us work for it.
We were sure we had already blown our chance for a big bull and were setting in the blind arguing over who had taken the toilet paper out of the hunting bag🤣🤣 (Clint was literally gauging how uncomfortable a piece of the blind would be😅) when a huge bull walked out in front of us. To say we were unprepared would be an understatement. We started scrambling to get me in a position for a shot. The bull heard us and started to walk the other way Everytime I thought I was gonna get a shot, there was a limb in my path. Finally, I got in a better position, Clint got him to stop running and I took the shot!
We waited a few minutes so we wouldn't spook him before we went to look.
He was down less than 30 yards from where I shot him!

I am still in complete disbelief that I got to take this elk. We got him skinned, quartered and the meat back home to process. I finished caping him out and will start the tanning process on him sometime soon. What a life I get to live where we are able to hunt, shoot, process, tan, and taxidermy our own animals. And of course eventually eat them ( which I am VERY excited for).
Knox enjoyed seeing the 'big buck' as well and we are working on learning the word 'elk' now😅

A huge thank you to my mom who stayed to watch Knox so we could hunt together and my dad who came to help Clint finish getting the meat quartered out while I came home to cape out the head!

Rainy or not, October 1st means bow season is HERE!
