A quick progression of the fleshing of a whitetail. There is something satisfying watching it go from brown to a pretty, white cape. It will still get hand fleshed around some of the thinner areas and a final shaving after the pickle. This is definitely NOT my favorite part of the process, no wonder my back always hurts. Just a few more to get done tomorrow!

The kids have officially been back in school for a few weeks, which can only mean one thing... everyone is sick😅. It was a wild week with the older kids at the end of their sickness and the baby getting sick Tuesday. There has been very little sleep in our household, but there is still work happening in the shop (just maybe not as fast). I missed posting for most of the week, because honestly, I lost the brain power to do so... but we are all on the mend and getting (a little more) sleep again🫠. So, hopefully I can get back into it! Tanning, mounting, prep work, and finish work all scheduled to happen this week! Happy Monday!!

Doesn't everyone's taxidermy go on the walls 1st? Eventually I'll have shelves, and decorations, but for now the theme is 'a taxidermist lives here'😅🤣

For real tho, I finally got Clint's bear and turkey up on the wall. I've still gotta build some habitat for the bear, but it's always so exciting to see your work displayed! 🦃🦌🐻

I spent quite a while cleaning, picking up, and organizing the shop yesterday. Then the mini split started leaking, and everything got tore back apart while we fixed it🫠
So, I guess today is the day to get started on a deep clean and rearranging the entire shop😅 I mean, why not?🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
