Ever wondered what the crew is talking about on install day? Here are four words worth knowing ⚡

🧱 Rail: the metal track bolted to your roof. The panels clamp onto it, so it has to run straight and level before anything else goes up.

⚡ Panel: this is what turns sunlight into DC power. It gets sent down to your house and converted to the AC power your home runs on.

🏠 Powerwall: Tesla's battery for the home. It mounts on an outside wall and stores the power your panels make.

👀 Conduit: the metal pipe running up the wall. Every wire runs inside it, protected from sun, weather and anything that could bump into it.

Ever wondered what sits under a solar panel? Here is the roof before the panels go on ⚡

🧱 Every rail is bolted down with roof mounts that sit under the shingle. The rails have to run straight and level, because the panels clamp right onto them.

⚡ Those black boxes are microinverters, one for each panel. Panels make DC power and your home runs on AC, so each one gets converted right there on the roof.

👀 Since every panel has its own, one panel in shade does not drag down the rest of the row.

🏠 Last slide is the same roof finished. All of that work ends up hidden under the glass.

Three boxes on one wall, and each one has a job. Here is what you are looking at ⚡

🏠 The big white unit on the left is the Tesla Powerwall, the battery itself. It mounts flat to the wall with clear space around it, so it stays easy to reach for service.

⚡ The smaller white box is the Gateway. It sits between the house, the battery and the incoming power, and it controls the home's connection to the grid.

🧱 The gray trough along the bottom is called a wireway. Instead of running a separate pipe between every box, the wires share one covered channel and drop out right where they need to go.

👀 Look at the short pipes between each box and the wireway. Short, straight and plumb, so anyone who opens this up later can follow every run.

One Tesla Powerwall on a side wall, with conduit that stays square to the house ⚡

🏠 Side yards are tight, so the unit sits flat to the wall and leaves the walkway clear.

🧱 One run comes down from the eave into the top of the unit. The other comes through the disconnect and straight across.

👀 Straight runs are not just about looks. They are easier to inspect, easier to pull wire through, and easier to service later.

⚡ Details like this are what make an install look like it belongs on the house.

October means more to our Arc Energy family than pink ribbons. It’s a time to remember Jazmin Hall.

Jazmin was Jake’s wife, Stephen’s sister-in-law, and a loving mom, daughter and sister. She was deeply loved, and we miss her every day. We’re sharing this in her memory and in support of everyone facing breast cancer, the people standing beside them, and the families who miss someone they’ve lost.

Please take a moment this month to check in with someone you love. Talk with your healthcare provider about recommended screenings and what’s right for you.

Jazmin, you are loved, remembered, and always part of our family. 💗

Ever notice the wires inside a new wall come in different colors? It is not for looks ⚡

🧱 The outer jacket on standard house wire is color coded by size. White is 14 gauge, yellow is 12 gauge, orange is 10 gauge.

⚡ Yellow is what you see here. 12 gauge is the size you usually find on 20 amp circuits, like kitchen and laundry outlets.

🏠 See the small metal plates on the studs? Those protect the wire where it passes close to the edge, so a drywall screw cannot find it later.

👀 This is the stage nobody sees once the walls close up, which is exactly why it has to be right.

Same garage wall, lid off and lid on. This is what sits inside a Tesla Powerwall ⚡

🧱 Slide one is the unit open mid install. Those metal fins pull heat away, and the bay up top is where every wire gets landed and torqued.

🏠 Conduit comes down the wall and straight into the top of the unit, so nothing hangs loose in the garage.

👀 Check the wall plates on the last slide. One is marked Solar and one is marked Future EV, so the next project already has a spot waiting.

⚡ Then the cover goes on and the whole wall looks like it came with the house.

Rail day. The part of a solar install that decides how straight everything else sits ⚡

🧱 Rails get set to a line and checked end to end. A few millimeters off here reads as a crooked array from the street.

🏠 New build, tile roof, full array going on top of it.

👀 Straight rails are not just for looks. They hold every panel in the same plane so the clamps sit under even pressure.
