Crystal McNally from Dem-Con visited Dean Lakes Education Center as part of the Green Grades Program to teach students about responsible recycling! ♻️She led a virtual tour of Dem-Con’s facilities and guided students in quickly identifying items that can—and cannot—be recycled. During the presentation, McNally emphasized the dangers of discarding lithium-ion batteries and medical sharps improperly. The session gave students practical tips for keeping their community and environment safe.

We’re excited to share the winners of our Green Grades Poster Contest, in partnership with Scott County MN - Government ♻️

This year, we received more than 100 entries centered on the theme “Recycling Superhero.” Watch the video to see some of the incredible artwork created by talented Scott County students—and join us in celebrating their creativity and commitment to recycling right!

Dem-Con Companies and Kanadevia Inova proudly hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for our anaerobic digester project, scheduled for completion in 2027. Once operational, the facility will process 75,000 tons of organic material annually, producing renewable natural gas (RNG) and biochar.

Located on Dem-Con’s Environmental Campus, this milestone reflects the power of collaboration. Thank you to everyone who attended and to the many partners whose dedication and support are making this project possible.

Junior Naturalists at Glendale Elementary School (Prior Lake-Savage) had an exciting opportunity to participate in Dem-Con’s annual recycling poster and video contest, and their creativity truly stood out! Dem-Con is a local Scott County, family-owned business that has been providing disposal, recycling, processing, and transportation services in the Twin Cities since the 1960s.

🎥 Rory M., a 5th grader, was selected as a video contest winner
🖼️ Madelyn C., a 4th grader, was recognized as a poster contest winner

Both students received awards, and their winning work will be displayed locally on posters—what an awesome accomplishment!

Following the awards, students heard from Crystal McNally, Dem-Con’s Education and Marketing Director, who presented to the entire group about how the company operates. Junior Naturalists learned a lot, asked great questions, and gained a better understanding of the work that goes into recycling and waste management in our community.

We’re proud of our students for their curiosity, creativity, and commitment to environmental stewardship! 🌎
